No. 13/16 Women's Lacrosse Begins Four-Game Road Trip at Roger Williams on Tuesday

SERIES HISTORY

•    Babson is 2-2 all-time against Roger Williams in a series that dates back to 2013. 
•    The Beavers snapped a two-game in the series with a win over the Hawks last season in Babson Park. 
•    Three of the four games between the teams have been decided by at least six goals. 

LAST MEETING
•    Lily Ives M'24 finished with six goals, senior Clare Connolly scored three times and recorded nine draw controls, and classmate Amelia Novitch added two goals and two assists to help Babson defeat Roger Williams, 12-10, on April 4, 2024, in Bristol, R.I. 
•    The trio of Anna Costello M'24, Zoe Michaud '24 and senior Eileen Manning combined to record 12 caused turnovers for the Beavers, who scored six times in the second quarter to build a 7-3 halftime lead. 
•    Karli Chapin registered two goals and three assists for five points, Mia Pantano scored three times and Zoey Cormican made 12 saves for the Hawks, who used a three-goal run to pull within 11-10 with 4:54 to go in the fourth quarter. 

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
•    No. 13 IWLCA/No. 16 USA Lacrosse Magazine Babson (1-1) routed Coast Guard 18-3 in its NEWMAC and home opener on Saturday. 
•    Senior Kathyn Blake (5g) and Novitch (2g, 3a) combined for 10 points, Manning led all players with three caused turnovers and Connolly secured nine draws for the Beavers, who built an 11-0 lead less than four minutes into the second quarter. 
•    Blake (7-0-7) has recorded back-to-back multi-goal games, Novitch (3-4-7) leads the team in assists and the trio of graduate student Ellie Hilsabeck (3-1-4) and seniors Michaela Downer (3-0-3) and Jessica Evans (2-1-3) have combined for 10 points over the first two games. 
•    Connolly has recorded 16 draw controls, Manning leads the Green and White with four ground balls and four turnovers, and senior Kathleen Murphy owns a 10.85 goals against average and a .514 save percentage in two starts. 

SCOUTING THE HAWKS
•    Roger Williams (2-4), which has already played four nationally-ranked foes, snapped a two-game skid with a 17-6 win over Westfield State last Thursday. 
•    Pantano and Kimmy Creegran both scored four times, Emma Terion added two goals and two assists, and Miranda Hayes contributed two goals and eight draw controls for the Hawks, who built a 10-3 halftime lead. 
•    Kreegan (13-6-19) has scored eight times over the last two games and leads the squad with 12 ground balls and nine caused turnovers, Terino (11-2-13) has a goal in nine straight outings going back to last year and Allie Shamberger (8-4-12) and Ella Waryas (8-4-12) are tied for the team lead with two free-position tallies this spring. 
•    Hayes (5-3-8) leads the team with 39 draw controls to go along with 10 ground balls and seven caused turnovers, while Cormican is 2-4 with a 13.66 goals against average and a .421 save percentage in six starts on the year. 

QUICK ON THE DRAW
•    Connolly averaged 10.60 draw controls per game in 2024 to lead Division III for the second year in a row, reaching double digits in 13 of Babson's 20 games.
•    Connolly ranks second (228 in 2023) and fourth (212 in 2024) in Division III history in single-season draw controls, joining Kelly McGinniss of Lycoming (239 in 2019) and Holly Hite of Merdith (222 in 2019) in the top four. 
•    Her program-record 532 career draw controls rank ninth in Division III history, just 105 behind all-time leader Emily Wadds of Wittenberg, who grabbed 637 from 2016-19.

STREAKING BEAVERS
•    Evans has scored at least one goal in 29 consecutive games dating back to 2023. 
•    Novitch has recorded at least one point in 17 straight outings, which includes scoring a goal in the last nine contests going back to last season. 
•    Connolly has finished with at least five draw controls in 29 straight games.
•    Manning has at least one caused turnover in 12 of the last 14 games and has picked up a ground ball in 16 of the last 17 contests. 

LIFE ON THE ROAD
•    Tuesday's contest is the first of three straight over the span of six days on the road for the Beavers, who will travel to Smith on Saturday and No. 15/18 Trinity on Sunday. 
•    Babson is 16-4 away from home dating back to March 30, 2023, 

NUMBERS TO KNOW
•    The Beavers are 16-0 going back to the start of last season when leading at halftime.
•    Babson 40-2 since the start of the 2022 campaign when scoring at least 12 goals. 
•    The Green and White is 17-2 since the beginning of the 2023 season when scoring four or more free-position goals. 
•    The Beavers have won 54 of their last 55 games when allowing 10 goals or fewer.
