Women's Basketball Hosts Clark in Regular Season Finale on Saturday

SERIES HISTORY

•    Babson is 34-22 all-time against Clark in a series that dates back to the 1976-77 campaign. 
•    The Beavers have won 13 in a row and 24 of their last 25 games versus the Cougars going back to 2008. 
•    The Green and White has won its last 12 games against Clark inside Staake Gymnasium since suffering a 65-53 loss back on January 27, 2007. 
•    Last year's contest was the first decided by single digits between the teams since 2019. 

LAST MEETING
•    Senior Katelyn Mollica scored 23 points on 8-of-10 shooting as Babson rallied from a seven-point second-half deficit to defeat Clark, 60-55, on February 17, 2024, in Worcester, Mass. 
•    Senior Camilla Silk contributed nine points and eight rebounds and Kelly Walsh '24 and Rachel McMenemy '24 both provided seven points for the Beavers, who held the hosts scoreless for nearly six minutes in the fourth quarter. 
•    Jacqueline Faulise scored 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds, while Alaina Schatzabe 

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
•    Babson (15-9, 7-3 NEWMAC) has won six consecutive games after routing Mount Holyoke, 82-28, on Wednesday night. 
•    Mollica scored 12 of her 17 points in the first quarter, senior Abby Miller scored a season-high 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting and classmate Emily Flynn added 10 points and eight rebounds for the Beavers, who opened the game with a 21-2 run. 
•    Mollica (14.6 pts, 1.9 reb) ranks second in Division III with 85 three-pointers and is shooting 42.1 percent from beyond the arc, sophomore Samantha Reale (11.4 pts, 6.4 reb, 2.3 ast, 2.1 stl) has scored in double figures in each of her last three outings and Flynn (9.8 pts, 7.0 reb) leads the team with seven double-doubles and is shooting 40.2 percent from long distance. 
•     The Green and White ranks second in league play in rebounding margin (8.2) and is fourth in both scoring offense (67.9 points) and scoring defense (58.9). 

SCOUTING THE COUGARS
•    Clark (11-13, 3-7 NEWMAC) has dropped its last four games after suffering a 56-48 loss to Springfield on Wednesday night. 
•    Cyriah Coleman finished with 16 points, nine rebounds and four assists, Catherine Antwi scored 14 points and Kailey Rios added 10 points but was just 4-of-20 shooting for the Cougars, who led 43-39 with 6:29 to go before giving up a 15-0 run to the Pride. 
•    Coleman (13.3 pts, 6.0 reb, 2.8 ast, 2.2 stl) has scored in double figures in 12 of the last 14 games, Rios (12.1 pts, 2.3 reb, 2.0 ast) is fourth in the conference with 55 three-pointers and Antwi (11.9 pts, 3.6 reb) has finished with at least 13 points in eight of the last nine contests. 
•    Clark ranks seventh in the league in scoring averaging 61.9 points but has made more than four three-pointers just once over its last seven outings. 

MONTH OF THE BEAVER
•    Since turning the calendar to February, Babson has gone 6-0 with four road victories and a trio of wins by five points or less. 
•    During this stretch, the Green and White has held five of six opponents below 60 points and is allowing just 52.0 points on 36.2 percent shooting to go along with a +11.3 rebounding margin. 
•    Over the last two seasons, the Beavers are 10-3 in the month of February, which includes a 7-2 mark on the road. 

SHOOTING UP THE SCORING LIST
•    Already the program's single-season (85) and career leader (209) in three-point field goals, Mollica enters Saturday's contest needing just five points to become the 20th player in school history to reach the 1,000-point milestone. 
•    With five points on Saturday, she would join former teammates Megan Bauman '23 and Kelly Walsh '24 on the Beavers' 1,000-point list. 

CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT SCENARIOS
•    Thanks to Wednesday's win at Mount Holyoke, Babson secured a home game in next Wednesday's NEWMAC Tournament quarterfinals. 
•    The Beavers can finish as high as second with a win on Saturday coupled with an Emerson loss at Springfield or as low as fourth with a loss and an MIT win over Salve Regina. 
•    Clark was eliminated from conference playoff contention with Wednesday's loss to Springfield. 

BABSON TRENDS
•    Reale matched her career high with five steals in Saturday's win at Springfield and has nine over her last three games. 
•    Silk is averaging 8.7 points and 6.8 rebounds while shooting 64.3 percent over the last three games.
•    Junior Chloe Perreault has made a three-pointer in six of the last eight games and is 8-of-14 (57.1 percent) from behind the arc during this stretch. 
•    Mollica, who ranks second in Division III in three-pointers per game (3.54) and 12th in three-point percentage (42.1), has connected on at least one triple in 22 straight contests. 
•    Senior Kiara Simone Davis, who made her first start of the season at Mount Holyoke, is averaging 5.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists over the last three games. 
•    First-year Julia St. Laurent matched her season highs with four assists and two steals in Wednesday's win at Mount Holyoke. 

SUCCESSFUL SENIORS
•    The Beavers' senior class of Davis, Flynn, Miller, Mollica and Silk has advanced to the conference tournament final in each of the last three seasons while compiling a record of 76-36 going back to the start of the 2021-22 campaign.
•    Babson reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2022 before reaching the Elite Eight for the third time in program history two years. 

NUMBERS TO KNOW
•    Babson is 13-3 this winter and 23-3 over the last two years when leading at halftime.
•    The Beavers are 10-0 on the year when shooting at least 40 percent from the field.
•    The Green and White is 10-2 this season when holding its opponents below 60 points.
•    Babson is 8-2 this season and 19-4 over the last two years when outscoring its foes at the free throw line.
