QUEENSBURY, N.Y.—Junior
Elliot Perretta (Annecy, France) and first-year
James Rosenbloom (Stowe, Vt.) both recorded podium finishes as the Babson College men's alpine ski team won the giant slalom and secured its first division title since 1993 at West Mountain on Saturday.
The Beavers, who finished 2.29 seconds ahead of second-place UMass, won their seventh consecutive race to begin the season. Castleton came in third, while UConn and Clarkson placed fourth and fifth, respectively.
Perretta was the runner-up with a two-run time of 2:08.04, which was just 0.27 seconds behind Marin Vigneras of UMass. Rosenbloom posted a time of 2:11.90 to finish on the podium for the fifth time this winter with a third-place showing.
Junior
Sebastian Sheppard (Park City, Utah) placed ninth overall with a time of 2:14.58 and sophomore
Alessio Della Casa (Geneva, Switzerland) finished 22nd with a time of 2:21.47.
Babson will wrap up the GS portion of its schedule on Sunday at 9 a.m. at West Mountain.
