WHAT TO KNOW
• After a month-long break for final exams and the holidays, Babson begins the second half of the season against Elmira on Friday at 4 p.m. at the Oswego State Holiday Classic, followed by Oswego vs. Williams at 7 p.m.
• The two losing teams will meet in a consolation game on Saturday at 1 p.m., followed by the championship game at 4 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY
vs. Elmira

• Babson is 10-9-0 all-time against Elmira in a series that dates back to 1977-78.
• The Beavers went 6-4-0 against the Soaring Eagles from 2021-25 when both teams were members of the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC), including a split in last year's two-game series in January in New York.
• The last three games were all decided by one goal, including a pair of Elmira overtime victories.
vs. Oswego State
• Babson is 5-3-0 all-time against the Lakers in a series that dates back to the 1986-87 season.
• The Beavers won three of four games in the NCAA Tournament between 1987 and 1991, although Oswego captured an NCAA mini-game in 1987 to win the series.
• The Lakers posted shutout victories in the 1994 regular season (4-0) and 2014 NCAA Tournament quarterfinals (3-0), the only two meetings in the last 30 years.
vs. Williams
• Babson is 22-25-3 all-time against the Ephs in a series that dates back to the 1979-80 campaign.
• The teams have alternated wins and losses over the last six encounters, and six of the last 10 games have been decided by a single goal or finished in a tie.
• The Beavers registered a 4-2 victory over Williams at the Babson Skating Center back on November 29.

LAST MEETING
vs. Elmira

• Shane Haviland '25 scored a power play goal 2:21 into overtime and senior Kyle Curtin finished with 42 saves as Elmira edged Babson, 3-2, on January 25, 2025, at the Murray Athletic Center Ice Arena in Pine Valley, N.Y.
• Senior Ian Driscoll and junior Joseph Kramer scored for the Beavers, and senior Nolan Woudenberg and Kyle Gierman M'25 added assists. Junior Mason Rosado registered 22 saves in goal in the setback.
• Ryan Reifler M'25 and sophomore Myles Yearwood potted goals for the Soaring Eagles, Chance Gorman M'25 produced two assists, and Nathan Young '25 and seniors Matt York and Tyler Schwindt chipped in with one assist each in the win.
vs. Oswego State
• Shawn Hulshof and Matt Galati scored 1:13 apart late in the first period, and Matt Zawadski stopped 27 shots to lift No. 7 D3hockey.com/No. 8 USCHO.com Oswego State to a hard-fought 3-0 victory over No. 2 D3hockey.com/No. 3 USCHO.com Babson in an NCAA Quarterfinal on March 26, 2014 at the Babson Skating Center.
• With the win, Oswego (22-6-2) advanced to the Frozen Four for the fifth straight season, while Babson saw its season come to an end at 22-5-2.
• Babson Hall of Fame goaltender Jamie Murray '16 finished with 24 saves in the setback.
vs. Williams
• Senior Charlie Andriole scored a pair of goals and added an assist for a career-high three points as No. 11 Babson skated past Williams, 4-2, on November 29, 2025 inside the Babson Skating Center.
• Seniors Egan Schmitt and Ryan Murphy scored a pair of third period goals for the Beavers, classmate Will Holland had a pair of assists, and fellow seniors Nolan DionMike Stevens and Brendan Kennedy and junior Jimmy Fallon contributed one assist each. Senior Nate Mueller made 23 saves in goal, including 10 in the third period.
• Senior Liam Jones and junior Brady Welsch tallied goals for the Ephs, senior Connor Berg had a pair of assists, and junior Nate Heithoff and senior Jared Lambright each added a helper. Sophomore Kael DePape finished with 36 saves in goal in the setback.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• No. 10 Babson (7-1-2, 4-0-1 LEC) is coming off the 4-2 win over Williams and a 1-1 tie against Amherst in a pair of non-conference games over Thanksgiving weekend on November 29-30 at the Babson Skating Center. The Beavers took a 1-0 victory in a shootout against the Mammoths.
• Senior Cam Joslin scored his first goal of the season to even the score at 2:30 of the third period against Amherst, and Driscoll scored in the third round in the shootout to give the Beavers the verdict. Mueller made 24 saves in goal, including two in overtime, and Kennedy and first-year Reid Pehrkon registered assists on the tying goal.
• Fallon (8-6-14) had a six-game goal scoring streak in November and is tied for second in the Little East Conference (LEC) in goals and tied for third in points. Sophomore Evan Brown (3-10-13) had a seven-game point streak to start the season and is tied for third in the LEC in assists and tied for fifth in points. Holland (+14) is tied for the league lead in plus/minus while Andriole (+12) is third and Fallon (+9) and Brown (+9) are tied for fifth.
• Mueller (1.82 GAA, .925 sv. pct.) is 5-0-2 in seven starts in goal and tops the LEC in goals against average and ranks third in save percentage. Rosado (2.67 GAA, 0.881 sv. pct) is 2-1-0 with one shutout in his three appearances.

SCOUTING THE SOARING EAGLES
• Elmira (3-7-0, 1-2-0 UCHC) is looking to bounce back from a pair of losses to end the first semester, including a 6-3 home setback to SUNY Brockport back on December 5.
• Sophomore Owen Halloran tallied a pair of goals and added an assist for the Soaring Eagles and junior Stephan McDonald added a goal and an assist in the loss. First-year Makai Tarjamo produced two assists and senior Matt York contributed one helper. Senior Brody Haynes finished with 21 saves in the Elmira goal.
• Halloran (4-3-7) and Tyler Schwindt (4-3-7, 2 PPG) share the team scoring lead along with McDonald (3-4-7). Sophomore Lucas Stevenson (4-1-5, 2 SHG) shares the goal-scoring lead and classmate Justin Pare (0-5-5) tops the squad in assists.
• Haynes (3.17 GAA, .886 sv. pct.) has started seven games for the Soaring Eagles while sophomore Cameron Manley (6.01 GAA, .844 sv. pct.) has two starts and first-year Avery Rovira-Hewett (4.00 GAA, .867 sv. pct.) has a win in his only start.

SCOUTING THE LAKERS
• No. 6 Oswego State (6-2-0, 4-1-0 SUNYAC) won its first six games of the season before suffering losses to No. 1 Hobart (5-2) and No. 14 Utica (5-3) on December 5-6 to wind up the first semester.
• Senior Matt McQuade tallied a goal and two assists in the setback to Utica, while classmate Tommy Bannister and sophomore Colin Vassallo produced one goal each. Junior Travis Baker and first-year Raymond Perrault each contributed an assist, and first-year Michael Manzi finished with 21 saves in goal in the loss.
• McQuade (3-4-7) is riding a four-game point streak and leads the team in scoring while junior Travis Baker (1-6-7) leads the Lakers in assists. Bannister (2-3-5) and sophomore Ryan Burke (1-4-5) are offensive threats while senior Connor Gatto (3-1-4), Vassallo (3-1-4) and sophomore Josh Simpson (3-0-3) have three goals each.
• Manzi (2.04 GAA, .914 sv. pct.) and sophomore Gavin McCarthy (1.41 GAA, .947 sv. pct.) have each started four games for the Lakers and posted 3-1 records. McCarthy owns a pair of shutouts over SUNY Geneseo and SUNY Canton.

SCOUTING THE EPHS
• Williams (3-5-0, 3-3-0 NESCAC) is back on the ice after splitting its final two games of the first semester with a 4-3 overtime loss to No. 6 Hamilton and a 5-2 victory over Amherst on December 5-6 in Williamstown.
• First-year Jackson Krill notched two goals and an assist in the win over Amherst while sophomore Jake McManus and Welsch added a goal and an assist each and senior Connor Fitzpatrick contributed one goal. DePape earned the win in goal with 33 saves, including double-digit stops in all three periods.
• Welsch (7-2-9, 3 PPG) has points in all five of his appearances and lead the team in scoring while McManus (4-5-9) and Krill (4-4-8) are also top scorers for the Ephs, who have been outscored 33-24.
• DePape (4.18 GAA, .881 sv. pct.) has been in the crease in all eight games for the Ephs, earning three victories and making 236 saves, tied for the most in the NESCAC.

LEC WEEEKLY HONORS
• Mueller was named Little East Conference (LEC) Goaltender of the Week for the second time this season on December 1.
• The Beaver netminder went 1-0-1 with a 1.44 goals against average and a .940 save percentage after stopping 47 of 50 shots in two starts. He made 23 saves in a 4-2 victory over Williams and then stopped 24 shots in a 1-1 tie with Amherst.

CHECKING THE DIVISION III POLL
• After making its first appearance since 2023 in the USCHO.com Division III poll last month, the Beavers have moved up to No. 10 in the most recent poll.
• The Green and White are third among New England schools, trailing No. 7 U. of New England and No. 8 Curry.

BEAVER BITES
• The Green and White are ranked 14th in Division III in scoring defense (1.40 goals allowed per game) and 28th in scoring offense (3.50 goals per game).
• The Beavers are 29th in Division III with a 22.6 power play percentage (7-for-31) and 32nd in penalty kill percentage at 84.0, allowing just four goals in 25 opportunities.
• Fallon ranks 11th in Division III in goals per game (0.80) and 23rd in points per game (1.40) while Brown checks in at eighth in assists per game (1.00).
• Mueller is 17th in Division III with a 1.82 goals against average and sixth in goalie winning percentage (.857).

BABSON VS. THE NESCAC
• A potential encounter against Williams on Saturday would mark the fourth game this season against teams from the NESCAC.
• Babson is 1-1-1 this season and 2-3-2 against the conference dating back to the start of last season, with four of the games decided by one goal or ending in a tie.
• The Beavers were 3-3-1 against the NESCAC in two seasons from 2022-24 after going 7-0-1 in two seasons from 2019-22, including 5-0-0 in 2021-22.

NUMBERS TO KNOW
• Babson has outshot its opponents 378-241 in the first 10 games and outscored them 35-21.
• The Beavers are 5-0-1 this season and 28-4-3 over the past four seasons when leading after the first period.
• The Green and White are 7-0-1 this season and 29-3-3 over the past three seasons when scoring at least three goals.
• Babson is 4-0 this season when scoring the first goal of the game.
• The Beavers are 5-0 this season and 13-3-1 going back to last season when scoring on the power play as well as 4-0-2 this year and 10-5-4 since last year when not allowing a power play goal.
