MARLBOROUGH, Mass.—Seven members of the Babson College men's soccer program were recognized for their success in the classroom when the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced its Academic All-Conference team on Wednesday.
Senior
Liam Goldstein (Princeton, N.J.) was named to the NEWMAC All-Academic team for the third year in a row, juniors
Ben Cosentino (Farmington, Conn.) and
Alexander Yablonovskiy (Berkeley Heights, N.J.) were recognized for the second straight season, and juniors
Titus Charles (San Tan Valley, Ariz.) and
McKenzy Pierre (West Orange, N.J.) and sophomores
Henry Bacon (Colchester, Vt.) and
Tidiane Thiam (Andover, Mass.) received All-Academic honors for the first time in their careers.
A two-time All-Region defender and a finance major,
Goldstein started 14 of his 15 appearances this season and anchored a Babson defense that allowed just 19 goals in 22 games. He earned his second All-NEWMAC honor, helping the team register seven shutouts and conceding no more than one goal in 18 of 22 games. A veteran of 50 career games with 39 starts, he has five career goals and two assists.
A reserve back/midfielder and a business major,
Cosentino saw action in 12 games this season with four starts. He logged 30 minutes per game and helped the team to five shutouts in his 12 appearances. He also scored his first career goal in a 2-0 victory over MIT.
A key forward and an accounting major,
Yablonovskiy played in 21 of Babson's 22 games with 17 starts and led the team in scoring with a career-high 10 goals, four assists and a career-high 24 points. He finished third in the NEWMAC in goals and points and sixth in assists. He contributed two goals and three assists in Babson's four post-season matches, including a goal and an assist in a win over Coast Guard, an assist on both game-winners in 1-0 verdicts over WPI and SUNY Oneonta, and Babson's only goal in a setback to No. 7 Connecticut College.
A Business major and transfer from the University of California Davis,
Charles started 10 of his 21 games in his first season in a Babson uniform. He tied for third on the team in scoring with seven points on three goals and one assist. He earned All-NEWMAC recognition after scoring a pair of goals in a win over WPI, notching one goal in a victory over MIT, and picking up an assist in a match against No. 13 Amherst.
A Business Analytics major and three-year veteran on offense,
Pierre played in 18 matches this fall with seven starts. He tied for sixth on the team in scoring with five points with one goal and three assists. He registered assists in the season-opening win over Occidental and a 1-1 tie at Salve Regina and produced a goal and an assist in a 3-1 win over Coast Guard in the NEWMAC Tournament semifinals.
A Finance major and two-year veteran,
Bacon started on defense in 19 of Babson's 22 games this season. He helped anchor a Babson back line that allowed just 19 goals in 22 games while registering seven shutouts and conceding no more than one goal in 18 games.
A two-year veteran on defense and a finance major,
Thiam, who appeared in just 11 matches as a rookie in 2024 due to injury, was bit by the injury bug again this year and did not see any game action.
Babson finished the season with an 11-7-4 overall record and a 4-2-2 conference mark before a 1-0 loss to WPI in the NEWMAC Tournament title game. The Beavers went to the NCAA Tournament for the sixth straight year and 33rd time in program history, advancing to the second round.
In order to be eligible for NEWMAC Academic All-Conference consideration, honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale after the 2025 spring semester, achieved second year academic status at his institution, and been a member of the team for the entire season.
