Three from Men's Soccer Garner United Soccer Coaches Region II Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo.—The Babson College men's soccer program had three players recognized when the United Soccer Coaches announced its Division III All-Region teams on Tuesday morning.

Junior Alexander Yablonovskiy (Berkeley Heights, N.J.) was named to the Region II first team, classmate Will Lloyd (Lexington, Mass.) earned a spot on the second team and senior Liam Goldstein (Princeton, N.J.) garnered a third-team nod.

An All-New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) first-team selection last month, Yablonovskiy collected United Soccer Coaches All-Region II accolades for the first time after producing career highs of 10 goals, four assists and 24 points in 21 matches this fall. He tied for eighth in the region in goals and 10th in points, and was one of three players tied for the team lead with two game-winning markers on the year.

Yablonovskiy was at his best over the Beavers' final 10 matches scoring six times and contributing three assists while finishing with at least one point in seven contests. In 60 career games, he has 20 goals and eight assists for 48 points.

An all-conference first-team selection, Lloyd also earned all-region honors for the first time in his career on Tuesday after ending the year as one of just two Babson players to start all 22 matches. He scored two goals and added one assist for five points while splitting time between the midfield and backline, and played the full 90 minutes in each of the squad's final six outings.

Lloyd has started 56 of 69 career games, which includes all 47 matches over the last two seasons, and has five goals and three assists for 13 points.

A two-time All-NEWMAC first-team selection, Goldstein recovered from an injury in September to collect United Soccer Coaches All-Region II laurels for the second consecutive season. He started 14 of 15 games and scored in the Beavers' wins over both Coast Guard and WPI on the way to earning NEWMAC Tournament Most Outstanding Player honors in early November.

Goldstein, who also garnered United Soccer Coaches All-America Scholar accolades last December, started 39 of 50 matches over the last three seasons and produced five goals and two assists for 12 points while helping the Green and White win a pair of conference titles while making three NCAA Tournament appearances.

Babson defeated WPI, 1-0, to claim its fifth NEWMAC championship since 2019 on November 8 and then advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament before falling to No. 7 Connecticut College 2-1 to end its season at 11-7-4 overall.
