MARLBOROUGH, Mass.— The Babson College women's swimming and diving team was honored when the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced its weekly awards on Monday.
The Beavers' quarter of sophomore
Samantha Gilbert (Arlington, Va.), senior
Sophia Sznewajs (Edina, Minn.), junior
Sylvie Racicot (Arlington, Mass.) and sophomore
Julia Netishen (Exeter, N.H.) was named the Women's Swimming Relay Team of the Week.
The Babson contingent won the 200 free relay with a school-record time of 1:37.81 in Friday's finals at the Fisher Invitational in Norton, Mass. The time was 0.15 seconds better than the previous program record set at last February's NEWMAC Championships and helped the Beavers capture the overall women's team title in the two-day event.
After a break for final exams and the holidays, Babson will return to competition with a dual meet against Amherst on January 2 at 5 p.m. inside Morse Pool.
