NORTON, Mass.—The Babson College women's swimming and diving team captured first place in five of the eight events and set a pair of new program records to highlight the action on day one of the Fisher Invitational at Wheaton College's Balfour Natatorium.
The Beavers totaled 378 points on Friday night to hold down second place in the team standings. Roger Williams is sitting in first place after eight events with 426 points, Wheaton is third with 319 points, Eastern Connecticut is fourth with 200 points, and Saint Joseph's (Maine) is fifth with 3 points.
Sophomore
Tuana Turhan (Lake Forest, Ill.) led the Beavers with a first-place finish in the 200 butterfly in a program-record time of 206.72, breaking the previous mark of 2:07.27 set by April Kupsky in 2022.

Julia Netishen (Exeter, N.H.) touched the wall first in the 200 free relay with a program-record clocking of 1:37.81, bettering the mark of 1:37.96 set last season. The team of Netishen, Gilbert, Turhan and Racicot also captured the 400 medley relay in 4:00.04, a time that ranks second on Babson's all-time list.
Gilbert was the individual winner of the 500 freestyle in a personal-best time of 5:16.39, which ranks second all-time at Babson. First-year
Middy Hinckley (Trent Woods, N.C.) came in fourth in the 500 in a time of 5:28.32

Becky Hwang (Needham, Mass.) led three Babson finalists in the 200 backstroke, taking first place in a time of 2:10.90, which ranks fourth in the Babson all-time list. Sophomore
Marta Gershanok (Closter, N.J.) was third in 2:15.79 and first-year
Lakshmi Prasanth (Apex, N.C.) was sixth in 2:18.86. Gershanok led a group of three Beaver finalists in the 200 IM, finishing second in a time of 2:15.13 while first-year
AJ Hallbert (Enterprise, Ala.) was fifth in 2:17.47 and Netishen was sixth in 2:19.39.
The Beavers also had three finalists in the 100 freestyle, featuring Racicot in third place in 54.21, Sznewajs in fourth in 54.64, and sophomore
Hailey Cronan (New Market, Md.) in sixth in 55.38.
The two-day meet winds up on Saturday with preliminaries at 10 a.m. and finals at 4 p.m.
