Swimming & Diving Hosts Bentley on Saturday Evening Inside Morse Pool

SERIES HISTORY
• The Babson men have gone 6-17 against the Falcons dating back to 2001.
• Last year's victory for the Beaver men was the first in the series since 2013.
• The Beaver women enter Saturday's meet looking for their first victory over Bentley since 1999.
• Last year's margin of victory for Bentley was the smallest since a 23-point decision in 2012.

LAST SEASON'S MEN'S MEET
• Pat Anutarasoti '25, junior David Krol and sophomore Nathan Huynh won two events apiece to lead Babson to a 154-126 victory over Bentley on October 26, 2024 inside Morse Pool.
• Anutarasoti captured the 50-free and the 100-fly, while Huynh touched the wall first in the 100-breaststroke and the 200-breast. Krol was the winner of both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving.
• Anutarasoti and Huynh were joined by sophomores Dom Crisafulli and Nehemiah Rhee on the winning 200-medley relay team, and the contingent of Anutarasoti, Huynh, sophomore Tommy Hannenian, and Rhee capped the victory by winning the 200 free relay.
• Junior Anthony Taslakov and sophomores Liam Maloney and William Iglar were also individual winners for the Beavers, Taslakov taking the 200 free, Maloney winning the 200 butterfly, and Iglar coming in first in the 200-IM.

LAST SEASON'S WOMEN'S MEET
• Sophomore Julia Netishen set a school record in the 50 freestyle and was part of four first-place finishes as Babson suffered a 153-140 loss to Bentley on October 26, 2024 inside Morse Pool. 
• Netishen touched the wall first in the 50 free with a record time of 24.15. She also came in first in the 100 free and was part of victories in a pair of relay events.
• Sophomore Tuana Turhan joined Netishen in winning a pair of individual events, taking the top spot in the 100 butterfly after besting the field in the 200 butterfly.
• Netishan, Audrey Daniels '25 and sophomores Marta Gershanok and Turhan won the 200 medley relay, while the quartet of Netishen, Daniels, Emily Tran '25 and junior Sylvie Racicot came in first in the 200 free relay. 

ABOUT THE BABSON MEN
• The Beavers (4-1) are back in the pool for the first time since a dominating 188-34 victory over Clark back on November 1 at the Kneller Athletic Center pool.
• Sophomore Phillip Spiridonov and first-year Josh Adler led the Beavers with a pair of first-place finishes. Spiridonov won the 50 free and the 100 fly while Adler took the 100 free and 200 free. First-year Hadi AlDayaa was uncontested in winning both diving events on the 1-meter and 3-meter boards.
• Taslakov had a solid meet, winning the 500 free and finishing second in the 50 free. Iglar also recorded a first and a second place, winning the 100 back and finishing runner-up in the 100 IM.
• Other first-place finishers included senior Zackary Cheung in the 100 IM, classmate Marcelo Carrion  in the 100 breast, and Hannenian in the 1000 free.

ABOUT THE BABSON WOMEN
• The Beavers (5-2) are looking to get back on track after falling to Stonehill 184-78 last Friday inside Morse Pool.
• Turhan had the top performances for the Beavers with a first-place finish in the 100 butterfly and a pair of third-place showings in the 100-breaststroke and the 200-IM.
•First-year Middy Hinckley produced some strong events for the Green and White, finishing in second place in both the 200-freestyle and the 500-free. Racicot came in second in the 50 free and third in the 100 free, and Netishen took second in the 50 fly before placing fourth in the 100 free.
• The Beavers had strong results in the two relay events. Babson's contingent of Netishen, sophomore Samantha Gilbert, Turhan and Racicot finished second in the 400-medley relay, and the foursome of Racicot, senior Sophia Sznewajs, Gilbert and Netishen captured the 200 free relay. 

TOP TIMES
• Hinckley's time of 11:35.90 in the 1000 free at WPI last month put her ninth on Babson's all-time list of top performers.
• Gilbert's time of 1:03.33 in the 100 IM moved her up to fifth on the Babson all-time performers list.

DIVING IN
• The Babson men's divers have a big meet coming up at the Terrier Invitational at Boston University on November 21-23.
• The meet will include preliminaries and finals on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards, and will include competitors from Boston College, Bryant, Fairfield, Northeastern, Army and Colgate.

LOOKING AHEAD
• Babson will wrap up the first semester with an appearance at the annual Fisher Invitational, and two-day event with morning trials and evening finals at Wheaton College in November 21-22 at Norton, Mass.
