No. 11 Men’s Ice Hockey Welcomes Tufts to Babson Skating Center on Tuesday Evening

SERIES HISTORY
• Babson is 18-2-2 all-time against Tufts in a series that dates back to the 1991-92 campaign.
• The Beavers are 6-0-2 in their last eight games against the Jumbos, including ties in the last two encounters.
• The Green and White are 3-0-1 in the last four games vs. Tufts in the Babson Skating Center, including a 1-1 deadlock two years ago.

LAST MEETING
• Senior Max Resnick scored a game-tying goal with 26 seconds remaining in regulation as Tufts came from behind three times to earn a 3-3 tie against Babson on November 26, 2024 inside the Malden Valley Forum.
• Junior Sean Senier, Brendan Murphy '25 and Wyatt George '25 scored goals for the Beavers, senior Will Holland registered a pair of assists, and Johnny McElaney M'25 and seniors Sam Sibold and Ian Driscoll finished with one assist apiece. Junior Mason Rosado made a career-high 39 saves in the draw.
• Sophomore Jameson Klein and junior Marcus Sang also scored for the Jumbos, and junior Jonathan Horn, Brennan Horn '25 and senior John Mulvihill collected assists. Senior Gustave Bylin made a career-high 38 saves in the Jumbo goal in the tie.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• No. 11 Babson (6-0-1, 4-0-1 LEC) remained unbeaten on the season with a 3-3 tie against Southern Maine on Saturday in the Babson Skating Center. USM earned the extra point in the Little East Conference standings with a 1-0 victory in the shootout.
• Driscoll scored with 1:36 remaining in the third period to tie the game and force overtime for the Beavers, who took a 2-1 lead into the final 20 minutes of regulation. Junior Jimmy Fallon registered a goal and an assist for the Beavers and Senier scored once while sophomore Evan Brown tallied a pair of assists and seniors Danny Cavanagh and Egan Schmitt each had a helper. Senior Nate Mueller finished with 19 saves in goal for the Beavers, who outshot the Huskies 45-22.
• Fallon (8-5-13) and Brown (3-10-13) share the team lead in scoring, while Fallon is tied for third in Division III in goals and Brown is tied for third in Division III in assists. Schmitt (1-4-5) and fellow seniors Charlie Andriole (1-4-5) and Ryan Murphy (0-5-5) are tied for third on the team in points.
• Senior Nate Mueller (1.97 GAA, .919 sv. pct.) is 4-0-1 in five starts in goal while Rosado (1.50 GAA, 0.925 sv. pct) 2-0-0 with one shutout in his two appearances.

SCOUTING THE JUMBOS
• Tufts (2-2-0, 2-2-0 NESCAC) is looking to bounce back from a pair of one-goal conference road losses at Middlebury (1-0) and Williams (4-3 OT) last weekend.
• Junior Sylas Oberting scored at 17:14 of the third period to force overtime against Williams after Horn and sophomore Bryceon Lago previously found the net and junior Ethan Ullrick added two assists for the Jumbos. Bylin made 34 saves in goal in the loss to Middlebury and finished with 33 stops in the setback to Williams.
• Ullrick (1-5-6) has three two-point games and leads the Jumbos is scoring, while Horn (3-1-4) tops the team in goals and senior Cole Dubicki (1-3-4) is tied with Horn for second on the squad in points. Resnick (2-0-2) is second on the team in goals after leading the Jumbos in scoring with 22 points on 10 goals and 12 assists.
• Bylin (2.01 GAA, .938 sv. pct.) has been in the crease in all four games for the Jumbos, earning a pair of victories and making 122 saves.

HOME ICE ADVANTAGE
• The Beavers are 2-0-1 in the current six-game home stand and 3-0-1 overall this season at the Babson Skating Center, with all four games decided by one goal or ending in a tie.
• Babson is are 11-4-2 at the Babson Skating Center since the start of last season and 19-6-4 on home ice since the start of the 2023-24 season.

CLIMBING IN THE DIVISION III POLL
• After making its first appearance since 2023 in the USCHO.com Division III poll earlier this month, the Beavers moved up two spots to No. 13 last week and two more spots this week to No. 11.
• The Green and White are now third among New England schools, trailing No. 5 U. of New England and No. 7 Curry.

BABSON VS. THE JUMBOS
• Senior Cam Joslin, Murphy and Senier have each scored one goal in their careers against Tufts, and Sibold and Driscoll each have two assists.
• Rosado is 0-0-2 in two starts against the Jumbos the past two seasons with a 1.85 goals against average and a .941 save percentage.

STREAKING BEAVERS
• Fallon has scored at least one goal in six straight games with all eight goals coming in the streak
• Brown has at least one point in all seven games since transferring to Babson from Skidmore, including four multi-point outings.
• Not counting the limited Covid-19 season in 2020-21, Babson's seven-game unbeaten streak is its best to start a season since the Beavers won their first seven games to open the 2015-16 campaign.

BEAVER BITES
• The Green and White are ranked 13th in Division III in scoring defense (1.86 goals allowed per game) and 14th in scoring offense (4.13 goals per game) through the first four weeks of the season.
• Babson has outshot its opponents 235-142 in the six games.
• The Beavers are 26th in Division III with a 23.8 power play percentage (5-for-21) and 20th in penalty kill percentage at 88.2, allowing just two goals in 17 opportunities.

NUMBERS TO KNOW
• Babson is 4-0-1 this season and 31-3-2 over the past four seasons when leading after the second period.
• The Beavers are 4-0 this season and 12-3-1 going back to last season when scoring on the power play as well as 4-0-1 this year and 10-5-3 since last year when not allowing a power play goal.
• The Green and White are 6-0-1 this season and 28-3-3 over the past three seasons when scoring at least three goals.

UP NEXT
• The Beavers will complete their six-game homestand with a pair of games this weekend against Williams on Saturday and Tufts on Sunday at the Babson Skating Center.
