SERIES HISTORY
•    Babson is 2-2-1 all-time against Connecticut College in a series that dates back to 1997.
•    The Beavers have dropped two straight games to the Camels and are 1-1-1 all-time in three previous visits to New London. 

POSTSEASON HISTORY
•    Sunday's match will be the first between the teams in the NCAA Tournament and second all-time in the postseason. 
•    The Beavers defeated Connecticut College, 2-0, in the 1997 ECAC Tournament Final. 

LAST MEETING
•    Rye Jaran scored the go-ahead goal in the 82nd minute to lift Connecticut College to a 2-1 win over the Beavers on September 23, 2023, in Babson Park. 
•    Marco Cerezo M'25, who helped the Green and White reach the national quarterfinals last season, scored the opening goal for the Camels in the 54th minute. 
•    Liam Rhatigan '24 scored the equalizer in the 81st minute and Walker White '25 made six of his seven saves in the second half for Babson. 
•    The game featured 36 fouls, 10 yellow cards and three red cards as both sides were reduced to 10 men in the 56th minute. The Beavers finished with just nine players on the field after receiving a second red card in the 66th minute.  

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS

•    Babson (10-6-4) has won its last three games and is unbeaten in four consecutive matches after defeating SUNY Oneonta, 1-0, in Saturday's first round. 
•    First-year Connor Hanrahan broke the scoreless deadlock in the 71st minute off a feed from junior Alexander Yablonovskiy and sophomore goalkeeper JB Montague finished with four saves for the Beavers, who finished with an 18-12 edge in shots. 
•    Yablonovskiy (9-4-21) has produced at least one point in six of the last nine games, Hanrahan (4-1-9), junior Titus Charles (3-1-7) and first-year Will Boecher (2-3-7) have combined for five game-winning tallies, senior Joao Araujo (1-4-6) is tied for the team lead in assists. 
•    Montague is 10-4-2 in 17 starts this fall and ranks 23rd in Division III with a .844 save percentage to go along with a 0.73 goals against average and seven shutouts. 

SCOUTING THE CAMELS

•    No. 7 Connecticut College (11-3-5) has lost just once over its last 12 matches and cruised to a 6-0 win over St. Joseph (Conn.) in Saturday's first round. 
•    Charlie Riegel cleared a ball off the line late in the first half and then set up Kevin Hwong's goal at the 44:57 mark, while Max Haberman scored twice over the first 16 minutes of the second half for the Camels, who erupted for five second-half markers. 
•    Marco Perugini (5-5-15) and Gavin Mpiani (4-2-10) are tied for the team lead with two game-winning goals apiece, Elliot Spatz (4-2-10) contributed a goal and an assist in Saturday's win, and Matt Quiros-Newton (2-3-7) and Gavi Vanden Berg (2-3-7) are tied for second on the squad in assists. 
•    TJ Krognard has started 18 matches going 10-3-5 with a 0.68 goals against average and a .789 save percentage to go along with seven clean sheets. 

BEAVERS IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT
•    Babson is making its 33rd NCAA Tournament appearance, which includes six in a row since 2019 and 14 in the last 17 years going back to 2008. 
•    The Beavers kept four consecutive clean sheets and defeated St. John Fisher (1-0), Wesleyan (1-0) and Trinity (Texas) 2-0 to reach the national quarterfinals last year before falling on penalty kicks to Middlebury following a 0-0 draw. 
•    The 1975, 1979 and 1980 Division III national champions also advanced to the national semifinals in both 1977 and 1991 and reached the sectional semifinals in 2010 and 2011.
•    The Green and White is 2-1-1 in second round NCAA Tournament matches and has advanced to the Sweet 16 three times since 2010. 
•    The Beavers defeated Wesleyan 1-0 last year, got past Trinity in penalties following a 1-1 draw in 2011 and edged Williams in 2OT in 2010, in addition to suffering a 3-0 loss to eventual runner-up Amherst in 2021. 

BATTLE TESTED
•    Eight of Babson's 18 opponents during the regular season are competing in the NCAA Tournament with six of them finishing in the top 50 of the Division III NPI. 
•    The Beavers went 2-5-1 in the eight games with victories over Wesleyan and Occidental and a draw against UMass Boston. All five of their losses were one-goal decisions, four of which came against teams ranked in the top 30 of the NPI.

VETERAN PRESENCE
•    The quartet of seniors Araujo and Liam Goldstein and juniors Yablonovskiy and Will Lloyd have played key roles for the Beavers in the postseason since 2023. 
•    Araujo, who had two assists in last week's NEWMAC Tournament, played all 110 minutes in the first round loss to Johns Hopkins in 2023 and started all four matches and played all but 18 minutes in last year's NCAA Tournament run to the quarterfinals. 
•    The NEWMAC Tournament Most Outstanding Player, Goldstein played all 110 minutes versus Johns Hopkins and made three appearances in last year's NCAA Tournament despite suffering an injury in the regular season finale. 
•    Yablonovskiy has scored a pair of goals in five NCAA Tournament games over the last two seasons, while Lloyd has started all five of his NCAA games and played every minute during last year's run. 

LEGEND ON THE SIDELINES
•    Babson head coach Jon Anderson '75, who is now in his 40th season, ranks second among active Division III coaches and is tied for 11th all-time with 482 career wins after tying Joe Clarke (Wash U.) with Saturday's victory.
•    He owns 50 career conference and NCAA Tournament victories going back to 1986, and is 16-16-6 all-time in 22 NCAA appearances with the Beavers. 
•    In addition to his 482 wins, Anderson's 98 draws rank third all-time in Division III.

SOMETHING IN COMMON
•    Babson and Conn College have faced five common opponents this season in Tufts, Wesleyan, Amherst, Salve Regina and Coast Guard. 
•    The Beavers are 2-2-2 against these five foes, which includes victories over both Wesleyan and Coast Guard. 
•    The Camels are 3-3-1 with two of the three losses coming against No. 1 Tufts. 

WHEN 90 MINUTES ISN'T ENOUGH
•    After abolishing regular overtime in the regular season three years ago, teams will play two 10-minute periods of sudden death overtime if the game is tied at the end of regulation. 
•    Should the contest remain tied after 110 minutes, it will be decided on penalty kicks. 

NUMBERS TO KNOW
•    Babson is 7-0-1 this season and is unbeaten in 20 matches over the last two seasons when scoring at least two goals.
•    The Beavers are 9-0-2 in the month of November over the last two years. 
•    The Green and White has limited 18 of its 21 opponents to one goal or fewer this fall, while Connecticut College is 6-0-1 when scoring at least twice.
•    The Beavers are 10-1 this fall when scoring first but just 1-5-4 when conceding the opening goal. 
•    Babson is 4-3-3 in road and neutral field matches this fall. 
•    The Green and White is 2-3-5 versus NESCAC foes over the last two seasons. 
•    The Beavers are 11-2-2 when they go into halftime with the lead or tied this fall. 

UP NEXT
•    The winner of Sunday's match will face either Bowdoin or UMass Boston in next Saturday's sectional semifinals.
