WHAT TO KNOW
•    Babson travels to Keene, N.H., for a pair of games at the Keene State Kickoff Classic on Saturday and Sunday. 
•    The Beavers open the weekend against the host-Owls on Saturday before meeting Ramapo on Sunday.

•    The Beavers are 7-3-3 all-time against the Owns in a series that dates back to 2001.
•    Babson has won six in a row in the series although the sides have not met since 2013. 
•    The Green and White is 3-0-2 over its last five visits to Dr. Ron Butcher Field, a streak that dates back to 2005.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
•    Babson (1-0) opened the 2026 season with a 2-1 victory over Gordon on Tuesday afternoon. 
•    Sophomore Connor Hanrahan tied the game in the 36th minute and senior Alexander Yablonovskiy put away a header in the 80th minute for the Beavers, who got four saves from graduate student Will Devall. 
•    The Green and White brings back 25 players and seven of its top eight scorers, including both Yablonovskiy (10-4-24) and Hanrahan (4-1-9), from a team that captured its second consecutive NEWMAC Tournament championship and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2025. 
•    Senior Titus Charles (3-1-7) and sophomore Will Boecher (2-3-7) combined for three game-winning goals, sophomore Blake Miller and junior Henry Bacon started 22 and 19 games, respectively, along the back line, and junior JB Montague was 10-5-2 with a 0.80 goals against average and a .837 save percentage to go along with seven clean sheets in 18 starts last fall. 

SCOUTING THE OWLS
•    Keene State (1-0) got a 57th-minute goal from Luke Belisle and four saves from Mateu Farre-Torres in a 1-0 season-opening victory over Colby-Sawyer on Tuesday. 
•    The Owls bring back four starters and 21 players in all from a team that went 8-6-3 overall and 2-4-2 in the Little East Conference last season. 
•    Martin Lubunga led the team in scoring with four goals and four assists for 12 points, while Luke Hartshorn (3-2-8) and Dorian Wilczynski (2-2-6) tied for third on the team in assists. 
•    Jack Corby (1-3-5) and Pietro Bergozza started 15 and 17 matches, respectively, on defense in front of Farre-Torres, who went 2-1-1 with a 1.77 goals against average and a .762 save percentage in five games. 

SCOUTING THE ROADRUNNERS
•    Ramapo (1-0) got first-half goals from David Oh and Dino Radoncic and scored three times over the final 15 minutes of the match to open the season with a 5-0 win over Wilkes on Tuesday. 
•    The Roadrunners return 19 players and six of their top eight scorers from a team that went 9-8-1 overall and 2-7-0 in the NJAC in 2025. 
•    Gianfranco Ponce led the team in scoring with seven goals and three assists for 17 points, Dylan Perez scored five times and Dylan Biernacki contributed four goals and one assist for nine points.
•    Kyle Allen, who produced nine goals and four assists for 22 points in 12 just games in 2024 returns after missing most of last season, Radoncic started 17 of 18 matches along the back line and Zachary Natt went 8-7-0 with a 1.47 goals against average, a .780 save percentage and five shutouts in 15 starts a season ago. 

LEGENDARY STATUS
•    Now in his 41st season at Babson, head coach Jon Anderson '75 ranks second among active Division III coaches with 483 wins since taking over at his alma mater in 1986, a number that trails only Paul McGinlay of Trinity (Texas).
•    Anderson, who boasts the fifth longest tenure among active coaches in all divisions of the NCAA behind only Tony Tocco of Rockhurst (57th season), Tony Martone of Merrimack (45th season), Andy Smyth of Findlay (43rd season) and Frank Olszewski of Notre Dame Maryland (42nd season), is tied for 11th among Division III coaches and tied for 22nd in NCAA history in career wins. 
•    Anderson is also the active Division III leader with 98 draws in his 790 career games. With two more ties, he would join Dave Masur of St. John's (118) and George Kuntz of Cal State Fullerton (109) as the only coaches in NCAA history to reach 100. 
•    A four-time regional coach of the year, Anderson has led the Green and White to 17 conference championships and 22 NCAA Tournament appearances, and his guided his team to at least 11 victories in 20 of the last 21 campaigns going back to 2004. 

POLL POSITION
•    Babson, which has secured at least a share of four of the last seven NEWMAC regular season titles, claimed three first-place votes and was picked to finish second when the league released its preseason coaches' poll last week. 
•    The Beavers totaled 53 points to finish behind defending NEWMAC regular season champions Wheaton (67 points), which finished atop six of the nine ballots, while Coast Guard (49) and last year's conference tournament runner-up WPI (47) came in third and fourth, respectively. 

BEAVER BITES
•    Yablonovskiy, who became just the third Babson player over the last decade to record double-digit goals in a season last fall, has scored 12 times in his last 24 matches dating back to the sectional semifinals of the 2024 NCAA Tournament. 
•    Senior Will Lloyd has started 49 consecutive matches for the Beavers going back to the 2023 NCAA Tournament. 
•    Sophomore Adam Stetson and first-years Adonai Samuel and Cole Barrett all made their first collegiate starts in Tuesday's win over Gordon, while Devall, who transferred from Skidmore, and Colgate transfer Drew Stephans were also part of the starting XI in their Babson debuts. 

THE SETUP MEN
•    Stephans, Lloyd and junior Christian Gardner, a transfer from Suffolk, all picked up an assist in Tuesday's win over Gordon. 
•    Stephans' assist was his first since his collegiate debut for Colgate in a 2-0 win over Siena on August 24, 2023, while both Lloyd and Gardner have four career helpers. 

NUMBERS TO KNOW
•    Babson is now unbeaten in 21 straight matches dating back to the start of the 2024 campaign when scoring at least two goals. 
•    Tuesday's victory over Gordon marked just the second time over 14 matches since 2024 that the Beavers have rallied to win after conceding the first goal.
•    Dating back to 2023, the Green and White is now 39-5-16 when it allows one goal or fewer. 
•    Babson was 4-4-3 in 11 road and neutral field matches last season.
