SERIES HISTORY
vs. Norwich
• The Beavers are 30-49-8 all-time against Norwich in a series that dates back to the 1975-76 campaign.
• Babson owns a 5-4-1 lead over Norwich over the past four seasons after Norwich had captured six out of seven meetings over the previous three campaigns.
• The Green and White are 6-4-2 against the Cadets at the Babson Skating Center going back to 2015.
vs. Castleton
• Babson is 29-5-5 all-time versus Castleton in a series that dates back to 2004.
• The Beavers are unbeaten over their last 20 games (18-0-2) against the Spartans and 14-0-3 in the series in Babson Park since 2011.
• Nine of the last 13 Babson wins over Castleton have been by at least three goals.

LAST MEETING
vs. Norwich
• After a 2-1 Babson victory on January 31, 2025, Norwich junior Cole Fagan tallied a goal and an assist in the third period to break a 1-1 tie as the Cadets went on to a 3-1 victory on February 1, 2025 inside the Babson Skating Center.
• Junior Jimmy Fallon scored the lone goal for the Beavers, with assists from Wyatt George '25 and senior Ryan Murphy. Junior Mason Rosado made 22 saves in goal in the setback.
• Junior Sami Molu recorded 33 saves in the Norwich goal to register the victory. Classmate Ben van Waterschoot and Bryan O'Mara '25 also scored for the Cadets, and seniors Nick Cordeiro and Adam Shuchart and juniors Jed Brazo and Hayden Heinrich collected assists.
vs. Castleton
• Senior Brendan Kennedy finished with a goal and two assists for a season-high three points and Babson scored four times in the second period en route to a 7-5 win to complete the weekend sweep over Vermont State Castleton on January 11, 2025, inside the Babson Skating Center.
• Fallon and sophomore Raphael Marcoux recorded a goal and an assist and Johnny McElaney M'25, seniors Egan SchmittWill Holland and Mike Stevens all provided a goal for the Beavers, who got points from 13 different players.
• Junior Cam Reid scored a pair of third period goals for the Spartans in a comeback attempt, and classmate Aiden Robson, sophomore Emmett McHardy and Chance Heaphy scored once each. Senior Jackson Edwards and sophomore Trevor Castino collected two assists each in the setback.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• No. 15 Babson (4-0-0, 2-0-0 LEC) captured its first two Little East Conference (LEC) games last weekend, defeating Keene State in the inaugural game 4-1 on Friday and blanking Western Connecticut 7-0 on Saturday.
• Schmitt tallied a goal and an assist and sophomore Evan Brown picked up three assists in the win over Keene State while senior Nate Mueller made 16 saves in goal. Rosado made 13 saves, Fallon notched a goal and two assists and Babson got goals from seven different players in the triumph at WestConn.
• Fallon (3-4-7) and Brown (3-4-7) each have a power play goal and have the early scoring lead for the Beavers. Kennedy (3-0-3) shares the team lead in goals and Murphy (0-4-4) and senior Charlie Andriole (0-4-4) share the LEC lead in assists.
• Mueller (1.33 GAA, .938 sv. pct.) is 3-0-0 in three starts in goal to begin the season while Rosado (0.00 GAA, 1.00 sv. pct) has the shutout over WestConn in his only start.

SCOUTING THE CADETS
• Norwich (2-1-0, 2-0-0 LEC) swept its first two LEC games last weekend at home, defeating pre-season favorite Plymouth State 5-2 on Friday night and blanking New England College 2-0 on Saturday. The Cadets dropped their season opener on November 1 to No. 4 Curry, 6-1, in the debut of new head coach Dominick Dawes.
• Junior Colin Elliott tallied two goals and an assist against Plymouth State while first-year Frank D'Ancona had a goal and two assists, Brazo added a goal and an assist and Molu made 40 saves in the win. Sophomore Cole Fagan and first-year Cory Kashul scored against NEC and Molu finished with 27 saves in the whitewash.
• D'Ancona (1-3-4) has the early scoring lead for the Cadets, Elliott (2-1-3) has the only power play goal and Brazo (1-2-3) is tied for second in points. Junior Cooper Bertrand (6-14-20) and van Waterschoot (6-11-17) are the top returning scorers from last season.
• Molu (2.67 GAA, .922 sv. pct.), the reigning LEC Goalie of the Week, received Division II/II All-New England and New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) post-season honors last season after posting a 2.28 goals against average and .921 save percentage.

SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
• Castleton (1-2-1, 1-1-0 LEC), which will travel to Southern Maine for a game on Friday before playing at Babson, split its first two LEC games at home last weekend with a 5-3 victory to New England College on Friday and a 4-2 loss to Plymouth State on Saturday.
• Junior Josef Vyvial, first-years Marcus Bellomo and Tyler Burke, and sophomores Emmett McHardy and Trevor Castino scored goals in the win over NEC while first-year Holdin Getzlaf collected three assists and sophomore Charles Watson made 23 saves in goal. Seniors Dylan Roebuck and Logan Dapprich each scored their first goals of the season and Watson made 29 saves in the loss to Plymouth State.
• Getzlaf (0-4-4) shares the LEC lead in assists with four Babson skaters while Vyvial (2-1-3), Castino (2-0-2) and McHardy (2-0-2) are tied for the team lead in goals. Castino and McHardy each have scored a short-handed goal for the Spartans.
• Watson (3.31 GAA, .869 sv. pct.) is 1-0-1 in three appearance and two starts, while senior Josh Ward was tagged for five goals at Plattsburgh State in his only start.

HOME ICE ADVANTAGE
• The Beavers defeated Fitchburg State in their only home game this season and are 9-4-1 at the Babson Skating Center since the start of last season.
• Babson is 17-6-3 on home ice since the start of the 2023-24 season and 36-11-6 at home over the past five seasons.

BACK IN THE DIVISION III POLL
• Babson made its first appearance of the season in the USCHO.com Division III poll this week, appearing at No. 15 and earning a national ranking for the first time since February of 2023.
• The Green and White are fifth among New England schools, trailing No. 5 University of New England, No. 6 Curry, No. 13 Endicott, and No. 14 Trinity.
• Three-time defending national champion Hobart received all 20 first-place votes and sits atop the poll.

PRESEASON LEC POLL
• The Beavers were picked to finish third when the LEC preseason coaches' poll was released last month.
• Norwich and Babson, long-time rivals in the ECAC East and NEHC, both received two first-place votes and finished second and third, respectively. Castleton tied Southern Maine for sixth in the poll.

BEAVER BITES
• The Green and White are ranked fourth in Division III in scoring defense (1.00 goals allowed per game) and 11th in scoring offense (4.50 goals per game) through the first two weeks of the season.
• Babson has outshot its opponents 179-77 in the four games.
• The Beavers are 3-for-13 on the power play (.231) while holding opponents to one goal in nine opportunities (.111) with the man advantage.

NUMBERS TO KNOW
• Babson is 3-0 this season and 30-3-1 over the past four seasons when leading after the second period.
• The Beavers are 2-0 this season and 10-3-1 going back to last season when scoring with a man advantage as well as 3-0 this year and 9-5-2 since last year when not allowing a power play goal.
• The Green and White are 4-0 this season and 26-3-2 over the past three seasons when scoring at least three goals.

UP NEXT
• The Beavers will continue with game three of a six-game homestand next Saturday against Southern Maine at 4 p.m.
