Men's Soccer Welcomes Clark to Hartwell-Rogers Field on Saturday

SERIES HISTORY 

•    Babson is 40-18-7 against Clark in a series that dates back to 1959.
•    The Beavers are unbeaten in their last five matches (4-0-2) and have gone 12-1-4 versus the Cougars since 2007. 
•    The sides have been deadlocked after 90 minutes in eight of their last 17 matchups. 
•    The Green and White is 10-1-1 since 2003 against Clark at Hartwell-Rogers Field. 

LAST MEETING
•    James Donaldson M'25 scored in the 19th minute and senior James Modiano added an insurance marker in the 67th minute to help Babson defeat Clark, 2-0, on October 30, 2024, in Worcester, Mass. 
•    Samuel Kalishman '24 M'25 and senior Liam Goldstein each contributed an assist, while Walker White '25 made a pair of second-half saves for the Beavers, who finished with an 18-6 edge in shots. 
•    Diego Marin made six saves and Joseph Joannou cleared a header by Goldstein off the line in the first half for the Cougars. 

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
•    Babson (5-4-2, 1-0 NEWMAC) has dropped four of its last five games after a 4-0-2 start following Tuesday's 1-0 loss to 18th-ranked Tufts. 
•    Sophomore goalkeeper JB Montague stopped a first-half penalty kick and finished with five saves, while first-year Adam Steson hi the crossbar in the 69th minute for the Beavers, who were shutout for just the second time this fall.
•    Junior Alexander Yablonovskiy (4-1-9) scored in last Tuesday's 2-1 loss at Amherst, first-years Will Boecher (2-3-7) and Connor Hanrahan (3-0-6) have combined for 13 points, and junior Will Lloyd (2-1-5) has a point in three of the last four matches. 
•    Montague (4-2) has started seven games and owns a 1.08 goals against average and a .821 save percentage to go along with two shutouts, while senior Derek Polanco (1-2-2) has a 1.11 goals against average and a .722 save percentage in five appearances. 

SCOUTING THE COUGARS
•    Clark (3-4-1, 0-1-1 NEWMAC) had lost three straight games after suffering a 1-0 loss to city rival Worcester State on Wednesday night. 
•    Marin made three saves and Theo Massie-Vereker hit the post in the 14th minute for the Cougars, who were shutout for the fourth consecutive matches despite an 18-9 edge in shots. 
•    Shahmeer Waseem (2-0-4) and Carter Benoff (1-2-4) both have one game-winning goal, Ben Siegel (1-1-3) leads the with 29 shots and Luke Sheldon (0-2-2) is tied for the team lead in assists. 
•    Marin is 2-2-1 with a 1.17 goals against average and a .781 save percentage with three shutouts in six starts this fall. 

1975 NATIONAL CHAMPIONS CELEBRATE 50TH ANNIVERSARY
•    Babson, which recorded the program's 700th win back on September 14 at Oglethorpe, captured the NCAA's first Division III national championship 50 years with a 1-0 win over Brockport State on November 30, 1975. 
•    The national title was the first in Babson history and the first of three in six seasons for the Beavers, who also captured back-to-back championships in 1979 and 1980. 
•    The Beavers finished with only unbeaten season in program history in 1975 going 17-0-1 while keeping 13 clean sheets and allowing just five goals on the year, and six members of the squad – current head coach Jon Anderson '75, Franz Grueter '76, Shane Kennedy '76, Francis Pantuosco '79, Mark Paylor '78 and Jim Powers '76 – have been inducted into Babson's Hall of Fame
•    Six members of the 1975 championship squad have been enshrined in the Babson Hall of Fame
•    Only Messiah (11), UNC Greensboro (5), which moved to Division I in 1991, and Tufts (4) have won more Division III national championships than Babson's three. 

HOMECOMING HISTORY
•    Each of Clark's last three visits to Babson Park have come during the College's annual Back to Babson weekend. 
•    Following a 0-0 draw in 2021, the Beavers defeated the Cougars 2-0 in 2022. 
•    Clark was also Babson's first homecoming game opponent back in 1962 and defeated the Green and White 3-0. 

STREAKING BEAVERS
•    Babson has won its last 10 NEWMAC fixtures while conceding just two goals and enters Saturday's match riding a 33-game conference unbeaten streak that dates back October 30, 2021. 
•    The Beavers are 28-0-5 since suffering a 1-0 loss to MIT on October 21, 2021, which includes 17 straight victories at Hartwell-Rogers Field. 
•    The Green and White has kept nine consecutive clean sheets at Hartwell-Rogers Field and has not allowed a goal in 886 minutes and 26 seconds going back to the first half of a 3-1 win over WPI on September 16, 2023. 

NUMBERS TO KNOW
•    The Beavers are 3-0-1 this season and unbeaten in their last 16 games when scoring at least two goals. 
•    Babson has conceded more than one goal just four times in its last 37 outings. 
•    The Green and White is 5-1 this fall and 22-1-3 since the start of the 2024 campaign when scoring the first goal of the match. 
•    Since 2021, the Beavers have gone 21-3-9 in the month of October.
