Kento Abe M'25 provided a goal and an assist in span of two minutes late in the first half to help 11th-ranked/top-seeded Babson defeat second-seeded Salve Regina, 2-0, in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Tournament final on November 9, 2024 at Hartwell-Rogers Field.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (7-4-2, 3-0-0 NEWMAC) enters Saturday's encounter coming off back-to-back 2-0 conference shutouts over Clark on October 4 and MIT last Saturday.

Connor Hanrahan registering assists, and Yablonovskiy tallied both goals in the victory over the Cougars. Sophomore

• Montague (0.82 GAA, .833 sv. pct, 35 svs.) has made nine starts and ranks second in the NEWMAC in goals against average and save percentage and leads the league in shutouts.
SCOUTING THE SEAHAWKS
• Salve Regina (4-3-4, 0-2-1) had a five-game unbeaten streak snapped in last Saturday's 2-1 conference loss at Springfield.
• Junior Chase Zorner scored a late goal against the Pride, with an assist from sophomore Ty Ferris. Santiago made five saves in goal for the Seahawks, who were outshot by the hosts, 20-10.
• The Seahawks have a balanced scoring attack with first-year Kyle Crawford (2-1-5) and sophomore Lincoln Freeman (2-1-5) leading the way with five points each and seniors Sawyer Beyer (2-0-4) and Joe Logue (2-0-4) one point behind. Ferris (1-2-4) and first-year Brett Rice (0-2-2) top the team in assists.
• Sophomore Nick Giorgi (0.73 GAA, .846 sv. pct, 22 svs.) has made six starts in goal for the Seahawks and leads the league in goals against average, while Santiago (1.14 GAA, .862 sv. pct, 25 svs.) has gotten the nod is four games, helping the team to five shutouts.
ARAUJO EARNS NEWMAC WEEKLY HONOR
• After a strong defensive effort in the 2-0 win over MIT, Araujo was tabbed as the league's Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
• The senior center back played all 90 minutes as the Beavers allowed just one shot while posting their second consecutive clean sheet. He also added his first point of the season with an assist on a second-half goal.
• Araujo is the third Babson player to earn a weekly conference honor, joining Modiano (Offense on 9/15) and Montague (Defense on 10/6).
A LOOK AT THE NEWMAC RACE
• Three teams remain unbeaten in the NEWMAC with Babson and Wheaton sporting 3-0-0 conference records and Coast Guard at 3-0-1.
• Springfield is alone in fourth place in the league at 2-2-0, and WPI (1-1-1) and MIT (1-2-1) have the advantage in the race for the final two playoff berths.
STREAKING BEAVERS
• Babson boasts a 35-game unbeaten streak vs. NEWMAC foes going 27-0-5 since October 30, 2021.
• The Green and White are unbeaten in 27 straight NEWMAC regular season games (23-0-4) since October 30, 2021.
• The Beavers are unbeaten in 26 straight NEWMAC road games (19-0-7) since the start of the 2018 campaign. Their last loss was a 1-0 defeat at Coast Guard on October 28, 2017.
• Since the start of 2018, Babson is 42-2-11 against conference opponents (losses: vs. Springfield 1-0 on 11/3/2018 and vs. MIT 1-0 on 10/23/21).

Bill Lawler '98, who ranks fourth in Babson history with a .859 save percentage, is in his second year as head coach of the Seahawks following three stints as an assistant coach for the Green and White (1998-99, 2003, 2017-22).
• Lawler and his assistants were named NEWMAC Coaching Staff of the Year in 2024 after finishing second in the regular season and advancing to the conference tournament final.
BEAVER BITES
• Babson's 19 goals have been scored by eight different players, not including one by the opposing team.
• The Beavers have gotten 11 goals from the junior class, five from first-years, and two from seniors.
• Lloyd and first-year
Blake Miller are the only two players to start all 13 games for the Green and White.
• As many as 23 players have gotten the starting nod at least once this season and 17 have started at least four matches.
• Yablonovskiy's six goals match his career high achieved last season.
