VERO BEACH, Fla.—Babson College first-year
Katie Yang (Orlando, Fla.) was selected as the Colonial Women's Golf Conference (CWGC) Golfer of the Week on Wednesday morning.
Yang shot 74-76 to tie for 11th place with a 36-hole total of 8-over 150 over the weekend in the Williams Invitational at Taconic Golf Club. She recorded a pair of birdies in each round and her 3-over 74 on day one was the Beavers' lowest individual score in eight rounds at Taconic GC over the last three seasons.
Babson recorded its best 36-hole score in four tournaments at Taconic over the last three seasons (626) and finished 10th in a field that featured eight nationally-ranked programs.
Yang has played four rounds over the Beavers' first two tournaments of the season and owns a 78.00 stroke average. She is also the team's second CWGC Golfer of the Week joining fellow first-year
Vanya Bansal (Noida, India), who received the award back on September 17.
Babson returns to action on Saturday and Sunday when it travels to Brunswick, Maine, to take part in the Polar Bear Shootout at Brunswick Golf Club.
