•    The Babson women's golf team will travel to Brunswick Golf Club to compete in the Polar Bear Shootout for the third consecutive season on Saturday and Sunday.
•    The beavers are among 14 teams set to play 36 holes over two days on the 5,702-yard par 73 layout in Midcoast Maine.

2024 POLAR BEAR SHOOTOUT HIGHLIGHTS
•    Sophomores Camila Amaya and Hannah McCarthy both closed with rounds of 1-under 72 to post top-10 finishes as Babson came in third with a 36-hole total of 22-over 606.

ABOUT THE BEAVERS
•    Babson is coming off a 10th-place finish in the Williams Invitational at Taconic Golf Club last weekend.
•    First-year Katie Yang shot 74-76 to tie for 11th place at 8-over, McCarthy posted a 36-hole total of 13-over 155 to grab a share of 32nd position, and junior Victoria Salim closed with a 6-over 77 to tie for 50th place at 18-over for the Beavers, who shot 315-311 to post their lowest total (626) in four events at Taconic GC.
•    McCarthy and first-year Vanya Bansal are first on the team with a 77.50 stroke average over four rounds, while Yang owns a 78.00 average in the first two events of the season.
•    Sophomore Alice Zhu, who finished with a 75.93 average in 14 rounds as a rookie in 2024-25, shot 76-84 to open the season at Nehoiden Golf Club on September 13-14.

YANG COLLECTS WEEKLY HONOR
•    Following her tie for 11th at the Williams Invitational last weekend, Yang was selected as the CWGC Golfer of the Week on Wednesday.
•    Her 3-over 74 in the opening round at Taconic GC was the lowest score by any Babson player in eight rounds at Williams over the last three seasons.
•    She is the Beavers' second CWGC Golfer of the Week selection of the season joining Bansal, who received the award back on September 17.

HISTORY LESSON
•    Babson, which is now in its third season as a varsity program, has enjoyed multiple program firsts over the last two seasons at Brunswick Golf Club.
•    The Beavers played their first tournament in program history at the Polar Bear Shootout on September 9-10, 2023, and last September, Amaya and McCarthy recorded the first under-par rounds in school history as Babson posted its then-lowest 18-hole (298) and 36-hole (606) scores on the way to coming in third.

ABOUT THE FIELD
•    Five of the 14 teams in this weekend's field are nationally ranked and all five finished among the top eight last weekend at Williams.
•    No. 6 Amherst won by 10 shots, No. 8 Williams came in third, No. 16 Middlebury placed fifth and No. 10 Wellesley and No. 25 Bowdoin finished seventh and eighth, respectively.
•    Wesleyan, which joined Babson in receiving votes in the September 26 WGCA poll, placed fourth last weekend at Williams.
