Katie Yang (Orlando, Fla.) closed with a 5-over 76 to finish in a tie for 11th place and the Babson College women's golf team posted its lowest 36-hole total in four events at Taconic Golf Club to come in 10th at the Williams Invitational on Sunday afternoon.
The Beavers followed up Saturday's 315 with a round of 311 for a 36-hole score of 626. No. 6 Amherst finished at 19-over 587 to record a 10-stroke victory over No. 5 NYU (597), while No. 8 Williams (600), Wesleyan (602) and No. 16 Middlebury rounded out the top five.
Coming off a 3-over 74 in the opening round, Yang carded two birdies and moved up two spots on the leaderboard after posting a 36-hole total of 8-over 150. Sophomore
Hannah McCarthy (Toronto, Ontario) got off to a fast start with three consecutive birdies on Nos. 8-10 and was 1-under through her first 10 holes before finishing with a 6-over 77 that left her in a tie for 32nd position at 13-over 155.

Victoria Salim (Semarang, Indonesia) played her final nine holes in even par on the way to carding a 6-over 77 to move into a tie for 50th place at 18-over 160. First-year
Vanya Bansal (Noida, India) played her final 15 holes in 2-over to shoot 82 on Sunday that left her in a tie for 50th at 19-over, while junior
Michelle Guan (Brooklyn, N.Y.) closed with a 94.
Babson returns to action next Saturday when it begins first round play at the Polar Bear Shootout in Brunswick, Maine.
TOURNAMENT NOTES
• Yang's 36-hole score and 11th-place finish are both the best by any Babson play in four tournaments at Taconic GC since 2023.
• The Beavers' 36-hole score of 626 was four shots better than the team's score last September when they tied for ninth place.
• McCarthy owns a 79.50 stroke average in six career rounds at Taconic GC.
• Salim's 77 was one stroke off the best round of her career, a 4-over 76 in the Vassar Invitational at Casperkill CC on March 31, 2024.
