LAKE PLACID, N.Y.—Sophomore
Mads Fondevik Syversen (Oslo, Norway) and first-year
James Rosenbloom (Stowe, Vt.) recorded the fastest times of the day to finish atop the podium as the Babson College men's alpine ski team cruised to a first-place finish in the giant slalom at Whiteface Mountain on Saturday afternoon.
The Beavers, who have won all six MacConnell Division races this winter, finished 14.11 seconds ahead of second-place Clarkson. UConn edged Castleton by 1.21 seconds for third place on the day.
Syversen finished atop the podium for the fourth consecutive race and fifth time this season with a two-run time 1:59.41. Rosenbloom crossed the finish line just 0.39 seconds behind him in second place, while junior
Elliot Perretta (Annecy, France) came in fourth among league competitors with a time of 2:02.16.
First-year
Moksh Patel (Edgewater, N.J.) recorded his second consecutive top-10 finish with a time of 2:04.97, which was good for seventh place. Junior
Sebastian Sheppard (Park City, Utah) finished in ninth position with a time of 2:06.58, while sophomore
Alessio Della Casa (Geneva, Switzerland) came in 22nd with a time of 2:10.91.
Babson is back in action next Saturday and Sunday when it travels to Queensbury, N.Y., for giant slalom races at West Mountain.
