• Cristiani and Soffer made quick work of their first two opponents in doubles and were 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 winners over Lauren Rha and Nina Ye of Pomona-Pitzer in the semifinals before suffering a 6-4, 6-2 loss to Katherine Petty and Brooke Despriet of Sewanee in the title match.
THE ROAD TO ST. LOUIS
• Cristiani, who has won 15 consecutive matches and is ranked in Division III by the ITA, is 26-1 on the year and followed up her ITA New England Championships singles title by advancing to the semifinals of the ITA Cup back in October.
• Her 26 wins are a career high and are second in single-season program history behind only Soffer, who recorded 31 victories last year.
• Soffer, who is ranked fifth by the ITA, became the first player in program history to record 20 or more singles wins in three consecutive seasons when she defeated Katya Shepherd Johnson of MIT in the NEWMAC Tournament final back on May 5.
• Soffer is 8-2 this season against ITA top-35 opponents, while Cristiani has gone 7-1 versus top-35 foes.
• The Beavers' duo, which is ranked second by the ITA, is 28-2 on the year in doubles and has gone 8-2 against top-25 foes.
REWRITING THE RECORD BOOKS
• Cristiani's 54 combined singles and doubles wins this season is tied for first in single-season program history with Soffer, who totaled 54 victories (31 singles, 23 doubles) in 2022-23.
• Soffer and Cristiani's 28 doubles wins are a new program record.
• Soffer ranks first in Babson history in singles (72), doubles (64) and combined wins (136), while Cristiani is tied for sixth with 102 combined victories, eighth in singles wins (50) and ninth in doubles triumphs (52) in just two seasons.
