vs. Springfield
• Babson is 20-6 all-time against Springfield in a series that dates back to 2000.
• The Beavers have won 10 straight and 14 of 15 matches against the Pride going back to 2008.
• The Pride haven't won more than one point against the Green and White in the 10 matches since 2013.

• No. 23 Babson swept all three points in doubles and won five of six singles matches in straight sets on the way to defeating Springfield, 9-0, on April 12, 2023 at Appleton Courts in Springfield.

Jose Gonzalez completed the sweep for the Beavers with an 8-2 result at number three.
• Green breezed to an easy triumph at number one singles, Anderson was a winner at number two and Conlin did the same at number three. Gonzalez cruised at number five and Hampton at number six for the Green and White. The closest match was when Law rallied to defeat Pride sophomore Tim Norin 4-6, 7-6 (7-3), 10-4 at number four.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• No. 33 Babson (11-8, 5-1 NEWMAC) enters the weekend riding a four-match winning streak following Wednesday's 9-0 conference victory at Wheaton.

Ole Lepsoe led the way for the Beavers. Wilson dropped just one game for an easy win at number one singles and paired with first-year
Kerem Ozlale for an 8-1 victory at number two doubles. Lepsoe won in straight sets at second singles and teamed up with first-year
Logan Back for an 8-4 triumph at number one doubles. First-years
Brandon Reznik and
Mattias Harrell were winners at number three doubles and in the bottom two singles slots.
• Ozlale (14-7) is 10-3 in singles in dual match play, including 4-2 at number one, while Gonzalez (14-11) is 8-6 in dual matches. Lepsoe (8-3) has all of his singles wins in dual matches, including 5-2 at number two, and Choi (7-9) and Zhang (6-3) both have six singles wins in dual matches.

SCOUTING THE PRIDE
• Springfield (4-10, 3-3 NEWMAC) has dropped four matches in a row after Wednesday's 7-2 conference setback to Coast Guard in its sixth straight home match.
• The Pride picked up a victory at third doubles from sophomore Phakin Thongbooncharoen and junior Ethan Gomulka, 8-2, and a 7-6, 6-3 by Zach Taub at sixth singles. Gomulka forced a third set at fifth singles before falling 10-6 in a super-breaker.
• Taub (9-4) has a team-high nine singles wins, including a 6-4 mark at number six, and Gomulka (7-6) is 5-3 at number five. Junior Tatsuya Kimoto is a respectable 6-8 at number one singles and Thongbooncharoen (6-7) is 4-1 at number four.
• Kimoto and sophomore Marc Villanueva Abad have six wins in doubles, including a 5-7 mark at number one, and Gomulka and Thongbooncharoen are 5-4 at number three.
SCOUTING THE STATESMEN
• No. 37 Hobart (13-4, 6-1 Liberty) has won 13 of its last 14 matches after Wednesday's 7-2 conference win over RIT. The only loss in that stretch was a 5-4 verdict vs. No. 27 Rensselaer last Sunday.
• The Statesmen took two of three in doubles against RIT with senior Sean Pesin and sophomore Nick Fischer winning in the top flight and senior Winter Fagerberg and junior Rahul Vallabhajosula taking the battle at number two. Hobart won the top five singles matches in straight sets with the line-up of Fischer at number one, junior Hyat Oyer at two, Fagerberg at three, junior Nick Grosso at four and Vallabhajosula at five.
• Pesin (13-8) is 8-6 at number one singles, Fischer (12-9) is 7-6 at number two, and first-year Achilleas Kousaridis (17-3) is 8-2 at number three and leads the team in singles wins. Oyer (15-5) is 7-1 at number four, Fagerberg (10-6) is 9-0 at number five, and Grosso (14-6) is 9-4 at number six.
• Pesin and Fischer (12-4) lead the team in doubles wins, all at number one, while Oyer and Troy Steiner (9-6) are 8-5 at number two, and Fagerberg and Vallabhajosula (9-2) are 8-2 at number three.
A LOOK AT THE CONFERENCE RACE
• Heading into the final weekend of the regular season, MIT (6-0) has secured first place and the top seed in next week's conference tournament while Babson (5-1) sits in second place and will be the second seed.
• Coast Guard (4-2) is in third place and has clinched a playoff berth while Clark (3-3), Springfield (3-3) and Wheaton (2-4) are battling for the final two playoff spots. Emerson (0-5) and Salve Regina (0-5) round out the standings.
CONFERENCE SUCCESS
• The Beavers have posted an 18-3 regular season record against NEWMAC foes over the past three seasons, and a 53-9 mark going back to 2013.
• The only conference losses in the past 10 years were to MIT (eight times) and Coast Guard (once, in 2022).
NEWMAC WEEKLY HONORS
• Lepsoe represented the Beavers this week with NEWMAC weekly honors, earned singles athlete of the week after going 3-0 at number two.
• The Green and White have combined to win the top weekly singles honor four times this spring and the doubles team of the week four times.
BEAVER BITES
• Babson is 9-1 this season against teams not ranked in the ITA Division III poll, with the only loss to Division I Bryant.
• The Green and White are 10-0 this season with winning at least two double matches.
• The Beavers have won eight straight matches at second, fifth and sixth singles, and seven of the last eight at number three singles.
