SERIES HISTORY
•    Babson is 26-1 all-time against Emerson in a series that dates back to 2011. 
•    The Beavers took two of three last season from the Lions with the teams splitting a doubleheader at Govoni Field. 

LAST MEETING
•    Senior Ike Kiely went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs scored and Ryan Noone M'23 finished 4-for-5 with two RBI and three runs scored to help the Beavers defeat Emerson, 12-6, in the back end of a doubleheader on April 15, 2023, in Babson Park. 
•    Michael Cook '23 was 3-for-4 with four runs scored and sophomore Zander Teator drove in a pair of runs for Babson, which got 4.1 shutout innings of relief from Tim Person '23 and Stephen McLendon '23 after scoring six times in the bottom of the fifth inning. 
•    Chris Ferara went 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored, while Jake Hatch doubled and homered to pace the Lions' 12-hit attack. 

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
•    Babson (7-6, 1-0 NEWMAC) has won four straight games after defeating Suffolk, 2-0, on Wednesday afternoon. 
•    Sophomore Ryan Hvozdovic produced an RBI single, while junior Luke McClintock tossed six strong innings and combined with three relievers on a one-hitter for the Beavers, who recorded their first shutout since April 26 of last season. 
•    Senior Brant Savage is batting .386 with seven doubles, four homers, 13 RBI and 15 runs scored, classmate Tanner Santos is hitting .347 with six doubles, 16 RBI and 15 runs scored, and graduate student John Nowak enters the weekend with a .303 average to go along with four doubles, six runs batted in and 11 runs scored. 
•    Graduate student Greg Nieskens is 1-0 with a 4.13 ERA in 15.0 innings over three starts, senior Jimmy Weick (0-1, 1.23 ERA) is holding opposing hitters to a .172 average in six relief appearances and graduate student Zach Magee has one save and has recorded seven strikeouts in 6.1 innings of work out of the bullpen. 

SCOUTING THE LIONS
•    Emerson (3-10, 0-1 NEWMAC) has dropped its last nine games after suffering a 10-2 loss at Clark in its NEWMAC opener on Tuesday. 
•    Braeden O'Connoll doubled and drove in a pair of runs and Ethan Chathompalit was 1-for-3 with a run scored for the Lions, who were held to a season-low two hits in the loss. 
•    Briggs Loveland is batting .405 with two triples, two homers, seven RBI and nine runs scored, Ferara is hitting .366 with four doubles, a home run and 19 runs batted in, and Justin Fields enters the day with a .316 average to go along with three doubles and seven RBI. 
•    Chris Lowe is 1-1 with a 4.82 ERA and 19 strikeouts in 18.2 innings, Benny Guevara is 1-2 with a 5.40 ERA in 15.0 innings and Shane Moriarty (0-0, 3.00 ERA) has made four appearances out of the bullpen. 

ONE-HIT WONDERS
•    McClintock, Magee, Teator and junior Matt Milone combined to toss the Beavers' first one-hitter on Wednesday versus Suffolk since April 5, 2017, when Michael Genaro '19 came within two outs of a no-hitter in an 8-0 win. 
•    McClintock struck out four and carried a no-hitter into the sixth, Milone and Magee were helped by the Beavers turning double plays in the seventh and eighth innings, and Teator recorded back-to-back strikeouts to start the ninth on the way to picking up his first career save. 

NEW LOOK NEWMAC
•    Salve Regina, which was ranked eighth in last week's D3baseball.com national poll, became the ninth member of the NEWMAC back in July. 
•    The Beavers and their league counterparts will now play a total of 16 conference games this season with each team playing either twice and the top six teams advancing to the conference playoffs. 
•    Babson, which advanced to last year's NEWMAC Tournament final, was picked third behind defending champions Wheaton and Salve Regina in the preseason coaches' poll. 

LION HUNTER
•    In six games against Emerson over the last two seasons, Santos is batting .471 (8-for-17) with four extra-base hits, 11 walks, four stolen bases and 11 runs scored. 

BEAVER BITES
•    Savage has reached base in 16 consecutive games, while Santos has reached safely in 15 straight outings. 
•    Hvozdovic, who owns a four-game hitting streak, has been on base in each of his last nine starts, while Nowak and first-year Alexander Wilson have both reached base safely in eight straight contests. 
•    Santos (6), Savage (5) and graduate student Luke Tanner (5) lead the team in multi-hit games, and Tanner is first on the squad with five multi-RBI games. 

NUMBERS TO KNOW
•    Babson is 2-0 this season and 27-7 going back to 2022 at Govoni Field. 
•    The Beavers have scored six or more runs and recorded 10 or more hits in 10 of their first 13 games. 
•    The Green and White is 5-1 this spring when leading after six innings.
•    Babson is 3-0 on the year when giving up five runs or fewer.
