Women's Basketball Faces Road Test at Coast Guard on Wednesday

SERIES HISTORY

•    Babson is 38-10 all-time against Coast Guard in a series that dates back to the 1982-83 season.
•    The Beavers have won nine straight games against the Bears since 2015.
•    The Green and White has been victorious in each of its last six visits to Roland Hall and is 11-1 on the road against Coast Guard dating back to 2009, which includes a 66-63 triumph back in 2022.

LAST MEETING
•    Samantha Smith '23 finished with 16 points, 16 rebounds and five blocked shots to help the Beavers defeat Coast Guard, 66-50, on January 21, 2023, in Babson Park. 
•    Senior Kelly Walsh contributed 14 points and seven rebounds and Megan Bauman '23 added 10 points, eight boards and five assists for the Beavers, who outscored the Bears 28-4 in the paint. 
•    Glory Blethen had 16 points, Kira Wood scored 14 points and Julia Mann added 11 points and five rebounds for the Bears, who led 17-10 late in the first quarter and trailed by just two at the half. 

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
•    Babson (7-10, 1-2 NEWMAC) snapped a three-game losing streak with an 83-69 win over Salve Regina on Saturday. 
•    Junior Katelyn Mollica scored 18 points, senior Madison Odam and first-year Samantha Reale both added 15 points and junior Emily Flynn chipped in with 10 points and nine boards for the Beavers, who used a 20-3 run that spanned parts of the first and second quarters to seize control of the game. 
•    Mollica (13.1 pts, 3.4 reb, 1.6 stl) is shooting 42 percent from beyond the arc, Reale (9.0 pts, 3.7 reb) has scored in double figures in four of the last five games, and junior Abby Miller (6.8 pts, 1.9 ast) is tied for second on the team in assists. 
•    The Green and White ranks 34th in Division III in three-point field goal percentage (33.4) and are holding foes to 34.9 percent shooting, which ranks third in the league. 

SCOUTING THE BEARS
•    Coast Guard (14-3, 3-0 NEWMAC) has won three straight games after routing Emerson, 77-50, at home on Saturday.
•    Dorothy Stotts scored 21 points on 9-of-13 shooting and Kelly Hagerty finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds to lead four players in double figures for the Bears, who finished with a 45-22 edge on the glass. 
•    Stotts (15.2 pts, 3.5 ast, 3.2 reb) has scored in double figures in six consecutive games, Wood (13.8 pts, 4.1 ast, 3.6 reb) ranks sixth in the league with 42 three-pointers and reached double figures in scoring 11 straight outings, and Blethen (12.7 pts, 7.8 reb, 1.6 blk) ranks third in the NEWMAC in blocked shots. 
•    Coast Guard ranks second in the NEWMAC in both scoring offense (75.1 points) and defense (55.2) and is sixth in Division III in rebounding margin (+12.9). 

MOLLICA HITS MILESTONE
•    Mollica knocked down four triples in Saturday's victory over Salve Regina to become just the fourth player in Babson history to make 100 career three-point field goals. 
•    Her 102 career triples trail only Erin Young '15, who is the program's all-time leader with 190, Caitlin Boulier '08 (172) and Joanna Maher '03 (138). 
•    Mollica is averaging a program-best 2.08 made three-pointers per game and her 47 this winter are tied for fifth on the Beavers' single-season list, just nine shy of Maher's record of 56 set during the 2001-02 campaign. 

BENCH PRODUCTION
•    Odam, Flynn, Miller and sophomore Allessia Carlo combined to score a season-high 42 points off the bench in Saturday's win over Salve Regina. 
•    Odam knocked down three three-pointers and scored a season-high 15 points, while Flynn matched her season high with 10 points and finished one rebound short of a double-double. 
•    Miller contributed nine points on 4-of-6 shooting and matched her season high with three steals, and Carlo scored eight points and dished out four assists in 28 minutes. 

BEAVER BITES
•    Mollica (13.3) and Reale (13.0) are averaging double figures and have both scored at least 15 points twice over the Beavers' first three conference games. 
•    Silk is contributing 8.7 points and 9.3 rebounds in NEWMAC play, which includes grabbing a season-high 13 boards in last Wednesday's loss to No. 16/12 Smith. 
•    Babson drilled 10 three-pointers last Saturday against Salve Regina, which is good for its fourth highest total of the year and its most since hitting 12 trifectas in an 82-35 victory over Oneonta on December 30. 

NUMBERS TO KNOW
•    The Beavers are 5-0 this winter and has won its last 12 games when scoring at least 65 points going back to last February. 
•    Babson is 6-1 on the year when shooting 40 percent or better. 
•    The Green and White is 7-2 this season and 25-3 going back to last year when outrebounding its opponents. 
•    Babson is 4-1 this winter when outscoring its foes at the free throw line.
