SERIES HISTORY
• Babson is 8-14 all-time against Nichols in a series that dates back to 1971.
• Wednesday's matchup will be the first between the teams since 2008 and just the third since the mid-1980s between the Beavers and Bison.
• Wednesday's contest will be the first played between the teams in Babson Park since April 20, 1985, when the Beavers won both ends of a doubleheader.

LAST MEETING
• Steve Tahmoush '08 and Robbie Leer '08 both had three hits and combined for three RBI and three runs scored to help Babson defeat Nichols, 12-5, on March 17, 2008, in Fort Myers, Fla.
• Sean Pucciarelli '11 walked three times and scored a pair of runs, while Jon Igoe '08 gave up just two earned runs while scattering eight hits in a complete-game effort on the hill for the Beavers, who went in front for good with a five-run third inning.
• Al Montalto went 3-for-4 while Andrew Besegai and Austin Martin drove in two runs apiece to lead the Bison.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (3-7) snapped a three-game skid with a 16-0 win over Wooster in its final game in Port Charlotte, Fla., last Thursday.
• Junior Ike Kiely went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs batted in, classmate Brant Savage homered and junior Tanner Santos and first-year Chris Basile both doubled, drove in two runs and scored twice for the Beavers, who scored 12 runs over the final three innings.
• First-year Ryan Hvozdovic is batting .387 with two doubles, two home runs and seven runs batted in, senior Michael Cook is hitting .368 with two doubles and a team-high nine RBI and Savage boasts a .317 average to go along with three homers and nine runs batted in.
• Senior Tim Noone (1-0, 0.84 ERA) has recorded 24 strikeouts against just two walks in 21.1 innings, senior Anthony St. John is 1-0 with a 2.92 ERA in three appearances and junior Tristen Spalter has gone 0-1 with a 4.66 ERA in 19.1 innings over three starts.

SCOUTING THE BISON
• Nichols (1-9) has dropped its last nine games and is coming off a 17-5 loss at then-No. 6 Shenandoah last Thursday.
• Karl Miller went 2-for-4 with a triple and a home run and Ben Jerome produced a two-run triple for the Bison, which as suffered four setbacks by one or two runs.
• Cameron Guerrera is batting .310 with a double, two home runs and five runs batted in, Miller is hitting .308 with three extra-base hits and six runs scored and Jerome enters the game with a .486 on-base percentage to go along with two triples, four stolen bases and seven RBI.
• Aidan Whitten (0-2, 5.25 ERA) has recorded 12 strikeouts in 12.1 innings while holding opposing hitters to a .234 average, and John Pollock is 0-1 with a 5.40 earned run over 10.0 innings pitched.

NOONE EARNS NEWMAC RECOGNITION
• After striking out 10 and allowing just two hits over 7.1 shutout innings last Thursday against Wooster, Tim Noone was selected as the NEWMAC Pitcher of the Week on Monday.
• It was the second league pitcher of the week award of the spring for Noone, who ranks fourth in Division III in WHIP (0.47) and ninth in hits allowed per nine innings (3.38).

STREAKING BEAVERS
• Cook has a hit in 11 consecutive games going back to last season, while Savage enters Wednesday's home opener riding a 10-game hitting streak.
• Santos has reached base safely in nine straight outings, which includes drawing at least one base on balls in six consecutive games.
• Basile has a hit in four straight contests and first-year Zander Teator has walked in three consecutive starts.

RETURNING TO THE FRIENDLY CONFINES
• After opening with three games in Texas and seven in Florida, Wednesday's contest against Nichols kicks off a five-game homestand for Babson.
• The Beavers went 13-3 at Govoni Field last season and have gone 48-11 at home dating back to the start of the 2018 campaign.

NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Beavers rank first in Division III with a .669 strength of schedule, which is comprised using opponents winning percentage and opponents' opponents winning percentage.
• Babson has scored at least six runs in each of its last eight victories going back to last April.
• In its three victories this spring, the Beavers are batting .375 with runners in scoring position.
• The Green and White is 2-1 this season and 20-5 going back to the start of last year when recording at least 10 hits. Dd
