No. 14/16 Women's Basketball at Wellesley

SERIES HISTORY
• Babson is 53-15 all-time against Wellesley in a series that dates back to the 1976-77 campaign.
• The Beavers have won 10 in a row and 23 of their last 25 games against the Blue going back to February 2008.
• Just three of the last 15 contests between the teams have been decided by single digits.
• Last season's contest was canceled and Wednesday's matchup will be the first between the programs since 2020.

LAST MEETING
• Senior Megan Bauman scored a then-career-high 25 points and Nicole Hiller '21 added 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting to lead four players in double figures as the Beavers defeated Wellesley, 80-61, on February 5, 2020, in Babson Park.
• Emily Bonifacic '20 and Katherine Tamulionis '20 added 11 and 10 points, respectively, for Babson, which shot 48.4 percent.
• Caitlin Aguirre scored 19 points and junior Jiyun Chae chipped in with 16 points for the Blue, which shot 52.2 percent in the first half.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• No. 14/16 Babson (18-3, 5-1 NEWMAC) has won its last two games and is coming off an 86-43 victory over Wheaton on Saturday.
• Sophomore Katelyn Mollica scored a career-high 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting, Bauman added 18 points and a career-high 12 assists and senior Samantha Smith finished with 14 points and seven rebounds for the Beavers, who shot a season-best 53.7 percent.
• Bauman (13.6 pts, 5.6 ast, 3.9 reb) ranks ninth in Division III in assists, Smith (11.6 pts, 7.8 reb, 2.2 blocks) ranks second in the NEWMAC in blocked shots and junior Kelly Walsh is averaging 10.4 points, 4.3 rebounds and a team-high 2.0 steals in 20 starts.
• The Green and White ranks 31st in Division III in field goal percentage (42.8) and is averaging a league-best 1.00 points per possession on the season.

SCOUTING THE BLUE
• Wellesley (7-13, 1-5 NEWMAC) has dropped four straight games and is coming off a 50-31 loss at WPI last Wednesday.
• Pujita Shukla scored seven points and Yitzel Serna came off the bench to score six points for the Blue, which limited the Engineers to just 2-of-15 shooting in the first quarter and trailed by only four at halftime.
• Chae (9.6 pts, 3.1 reb, 2.4 steals) has scored in double figures four times over the last eight games, Shukla is averaging 7.9 points and 4.5 rebounds and first-year Arla Hofer (6.7 pts, 5.3 reb) is shooting 41.6 percent from the floor.
• Wellesley forced 20.6 turnovers per game and is holding its opponents to just 23.9 percent shooting from three-point range.

LIFE ON THE ROAD
• The Beavers will play three of their final four games of the regular season on the road, a stretch that includes games at Smith on Saturday and WPI on February 18 in addition to Wednesday's clash at Wellesley.
• Babson is 33-5 on the road against NEWMAC foes since 2016-17 but suffered a 71-61 loss at Springfield in its last road test on January 28.

TAKING CARE OF THE ROCK
• Bauman had recorded 39 assists while committing just six turnovers over the last five games and currently ranks 29th in Division III with a 2.39 assist-to-turnover ratio in 21 starts this winter.
• As a team, the Green and White ranks 13th in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.14) and is 22nd nationally in fewest turnovers per game (13.5).

CASHING IN AT THE FREE THROW LINE
• Bauman is 86-of-92 at the charity stripe this season and ranks first in Division III shooting 93.5 percent.
• Walsh is shooting 90 percent (45-of-50) and as a team, the Beavers rank 12th nationally at 75.2 percent.

NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Beavers are 16-0 this season when holding their opponents below 40 percent shooting.
• Babson is 12-1 when outrebounding its foes this winter.
• The Beavers are 7-1 on the year and have won 25 of their last 26 games when forcing at least 18 turnovers.
• The Green and White is 13-0 this season and 25-1 over the last two years when holding its opponents below 60 points.
