WHAT TO KNOW
• The Babson men's and women's ski teams and their MacConnell Division rivals travel to West Mountain for two days of giant slalom races beginning on Saturday morning.
• The January 20th races at West were postponed due to inclement weather and will be made up this weekend.
• The men will take part in two separate GS races on Saturday and a single competition on Sunday, while the women's squads have one race Saturday and two on Sunday.
LAST TIME AT WEST MOUNTAIN
• The Beavers finished off the their 2022 MacConnell Division schedule with four straight races at West Mountain, which includes the men taking first and third place and the women finishing second twice in the giant slalom on February 12-13 of last year.
• Senior Lauren Abdow finished atop the podium in both of the women's races, while junior Lucas Wiacek, classmate Ryan Beardsley and senior Zach Roman placed second through fourth to lead the Babson men to a team win in the opening race of the weekend.
SCOUTING THE BABSON WOMEN
• The Beavers took second place last Friday and followed it up with their fourth victory of the season last Saturday in the giant slalom at Whiteface Mountain in Lake Placid, N.Y.
• Abdow (3rd/3rd), junior Caroline Haaijer (5th/5th), classmate Arianna Barile (9th/4th) and sophomore Caroline Johnson (10th/10th) all recorded a pair of top-10 finishes for the Green and White, which finished just over a second behind Castleton in Friday's race and more than eight seconds ahead of second-place Clarkson on Saturday.
• Abdow has recorded two victories and five podium finishes in five starts this winter and sits atop the MacConnell Division individual standings with a lead of more than 100 points.
• Haaijer boasts five top-five results and is currently third in the league standings, Barile is sixth thanks to four top-10 finishes, and Johnson is currently in 10th place. Additionally, junior Maeve Fiske-Mercer enters the weekend ranked 15th with two top-10 showings.
SCOUTING THE BABSON MEN
• The Beavers placed second in back-to-back giant slalom races last weekend at Whiteface Mountain.
• Beardsley followed up a ninth-place finish on Friday by placing fourth on Saturday, while first-year Max Bellino came in ninth in both races as Babson finished behind Castleton in both competitions.
• Beardsley is ranked third on the MacConnell Division individual leaderboard thanks to five top-six finishes, Bellino (8th) has recorded four straight top-10s and senior Jack Beney is 11th overall after registering a pair of top-15 results at Whiteface.
• Junior Kyle Wolff heads to West Mountain in 12th place in the league standings and first-year Finn Horsley, who boasts two 10th-place results, is currently 20th.
MACCONNELL DIVISION AT THE MIDWAY POINT
• The Babson women have won four of the first five races and are currently atop the team leaderboard as they seek the program's first conference title since 1992.
• The Babson men have finished second behind Castleton in each of the first five races of the year and are well on the way to recording their 10th consecutive top-three league finish.

• The Beavers will conclude their MacConnell Division schedule with a pair of slalom races at Pat's Peak in Henniker, N.H., on February 11-12.
