HENNIKER, N.H.—The Babson College men's alpine ski team wrapped up its MacConnell Division regular season schedule by finishing second in the slalom at Pat's Peak on Sunday afternoon.
First-place Castleton finished nearly 14 seconds ahead of the second-place Beavers, while Clarkson took third. The Green and White finished as the runner-up in seven of 10 league races on the way to securing its fourth straight second-place finish in the standings.
Senior Zach Roman (Mashpee, Mass.) was Babson's top finisher in ninth place with a time of 1:33.77, which was 0.01 seconds ahead of junior teammate Lucas Wiacek (Little Neck, N.Y.), who came in 10th. First-year Sebastian Sheppard (Park City, Utah) finished in 12th position with a time of 1:33.90, senior Jack Beney (Greenwich, Conn.) was 15th in a time of 1:35.07 and first-year Finn Horsley (Salt Lake City, Utah) was right behind him in 16th place with a time of 1:35.07.
Junior Kyle Wolff (Stratham, N.H.) placed 19th overall crossing the finish line in 1:35.96, while classmate Henness Hoffmann (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) tied for 21st position with a time of 1:36.08. Sophomore Zachary Carpenter (Boulder, Colo.) came in 31st with a time of 1:40.88.
Babson travels to Sugarloaf Mountain in Carrabassett Valley, Maine, to compete in the USCSA Eastern Regional Championships next Saturday and Sunday.
