Women's Basketball Closes Out Semester at Framingham State on Tuesday

SERIES HISTORY

•    Babson is 20-7 all-time against Framingham State in a series that dates back to the 1977-78 campaign.
•    The Beavers have won their last 17 games against the Rams going back to 1989, although the teams have met just four times over the last 11 years. 
•    Tuesday's contest marks Babson's first visit to Logan Gymnasium since 2007. 

LAST MEETING
•    Junior Katelyn Mollica led three players in double figures with 14 points, Samantha Smith '23 posted a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds and senior Kelly Walsh added 13 points to help the Beavers defeat Framingham State, 71-63, on December 6, 2022, in Babson Park. 
•    Megan Bauman '23 chipped in with nine points and a game-high six assists for Babson, which helped longtime head coach Judy Blinstrub record the 700th win over her career. 
•    Katherine Haselton scored a game-high 17 points and Katty Haidul added 11 points and 15 rebounds for the Rams, who cut a late 15-point deficit down to six with 2:29 remaining. 

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
•    Babson (4-4) is looking to bounce back from a 70-60 loss to Williams a the Shooting Touch Classic on Saturday. 
•    Walsh scored 22 points and added season highs of seven assists and seven steals, Mollica finished with 15 points and five assists and fellow junior Abby Miller chipped in with 12 points for the Beavers, who were outscored 20-6 in the second quarter. 
•    Walsh (17.6 pts, 4.4 reb, 4.1 ast, 2.3 stl) has scored in double figures in 18 of the last 19 games going back to last year, Mollica (13.0 pts, 3.4 reb, 2.3 ast) is shooting 43.9 percent from three-point range and Miller is averaging 8.5 points and 2.9 assists in two starts. 
•    The Green and White is averaging 67.4 points and is shooting 41.2 percent overall and 34.7 percent from beyond the arc. 

SCOUTING THE RAMS
•    Framingham State (7-0) remained unbeaten with an 80-71 win over Emerson on Saturday. 
•    Kelsey Yelle finished with 26 points and 12 rebounds and Haselton added 20 points and six boards to lead four players in double figures for the Rams, who shot 49.2 percent and finished with a 46-26 advantage on the glass. 
•    Yelle (15.4 pts, 9.1 reb) is shooting 57.8 percent from the floor, Flannery O'Connor (15.1 pts, 13.1 reb) has posted five double-doubles and  Chloe Rayko (11.7 pts, 1.3 reb) has a three-pointer in every game this season and has scored in double figures in three straight outings. 
•    Framingham State is shooting 43.8 percent and ranks 12th in Division III with a +12.1 rebounding margin. 

WALSH CLAIMS CONFERENCE RECOGNITION
•    After finishing the weekend with 11 steals and two blocked shots, Walsh was named NEWMAC Defensive Co-Player of the Week on Monday. 
•    In two games, she averaged 5.5 steals and 4.5 rebounds and helped the Beavers hold Middlebury to a season-low 25.8 percent shooting in Friday's 56-45 win. 

MOVING UP THE CHARTS
•    Walsh enters Tuesday's contest needing just three points to become the 19th player in program history to reach 1,000 for her career. 
•    She also ranks fourth on Babson's career list with 92 three-pointers and 19th with 144 steals. 
•    With five three-pointers on Saturday against Williams, Mollica now ranks seventh on the Beavers' all-time list with 80 triples in just 40 career games. 

CLEANING UP ON THE GLASS
•    Over the last four games, five Babson players are pulling down at least four rebounds. 
•    Sophomore Chloe Perreault is averaging 7.5 boards during this stretch, senior Rachel McMenemy is pulling down 6.5, junior Camillla Silk is contributing 4.5 and the duo of Walsh and Mollica is hauling down 4.0 per game. 
•    As a team, the Green and White owns a +3.2 rebounding margin during this four-game stretch. 

NUMBERS TO KNOW
•    The Beavers have outscored their opponents 135-94 in the first quarter through eight games. 
•    Babson is 4-0 this season when outrebounding its opponents.
•    In its four victories this year, the Green and White is holding foes to just 44.3 points.
•    The Beavers are 4-1 on the season when scoring at least 60 points.

•    Babson will take on Susquehanna and Oneonta in the Judy Pearson '85 Memorial Tournament on December 29-30 inside Staake Gymnasium.
