• Brandon Collett '23 stopped 17 of 21 shots over the first two periods before giving way to sophomore Josh Ward, who made six third-period saves for the Spartans.
vs. Skidmore
• Senior Everett Wardle tallied a goal and an assist, including the go-ahead goal at 8:18 of the third period as Skidmore defeated No. 14 Babson, 2-1, back on January 28 inside the Babson Skating Center.
• Junior Kaeden Patrick matched Wardle with a goal and an assist for the Thoroughbreds and classmate Jaden York and sophomore Connor Wood added one assist apiece. Senior goalie Tate Brandon made 34 saves to record the win in goal for the visitors.

Ian Driscoll scored the lone goal for the Beavers and classmate
Will Holland picked up an assist. Hildebrand made 15 saves in the setback.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (5-4-2, 4-0-1 NEHC) had its six-game unbeaten streak (5-0-1) snapped on Sunday in a 4-2 setback to Amherst at the Babson Skating Center. The Beavers are on top of the NEHC standings with 12 points.
• Sophomore
Egan Schmitt tallied a goal and an assist and Murphy scored one goal in the loss to Amherst. Kennedy, Holland and first-year
Jimmy Fallon added one helper each and sophomore goalie
Nate Mueller finished with 19 saves in the setback.
• Murphy (6-7-13) is in the top five in the NEHC in assists and points while Kramer (5-4-9) has three multi-point performances in his last five outings. Schmitt (5-3-8) has three multi-point games this season, George (2-6-8) is third on the team in assists, and sophomore
Charlie Andriole (0-7-7) is tied for the team lead in assists.
• Mueller (5-3-0, 2.77 GAA, .912 Sv. Pct.) posted his first career shutout last Saturday with 30 saves in the 5-0 win over Williams. First-year
Mason Rosado (2.85 GAA, .888 Sv. Pct) has a pair of ties in three starts.
SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
• Castleton (4-5-0, 2-2-0 NEHC) split a pair of games last weekend in its Terry Moran Invitational with a 1-0 victory over MCLA on Friday and a 7-1 loss to Rivier on Saturday.
• Sophomore Anthony Persi potted the game-winner against MCLA and classmate Zack Whitaker produced the lone goal against Rivier. Sophomore Jason Atkinson and juniors Andrew Stefura and Bryce Irwin provided assists on the weekend. Junior Simon Brenter made 22 saves to post his first career shutout against MCLA and classmate Dominic Rodrigue turned aside 26 shots against Rivier.
• Stefura (7-5-12) has at least one point in eight of his nine games and Irwin (2-7-9) leads the team in assists. Josef Vyvial (3-5-8) is tied for the league lead in scoring by a first-year and Whittaker (1-6-7) is second on the team in assists.
• Rodrigue (3.66 GAA, .884 sv. pct) is 2-3-0 in five starts while Brenter (2.93 GAA, .902 sv. pct) and sophomore Josh Ward (3.75 GAA, .861 sv. pct) are both 1-1 in two starts.
SCOUTING THE THOROUGHBREDS
• No. 13 Skidmore (7-0-2, 3-0-1 NEHC) heads into Friday's conference game at Southern Maine as one of six teams in Division III without a loss. Only two others are unbeaten having played at least five games – No. 1 Plattsburgh (8-0-0) and No. 6 St. Scholastica (7-0-0).
• York and Patrick scored goals to help the Thoroughbreds overcome a 2-0 deficit to Brockport last Sunday in the title game of the Skidmore Thanksgiving Invitational. The game ended in a 2-2 tie before Brockport won a shootout to claim the tournament title. York scored twice on the weekend and was named to the All-Tournament Team along with Brandon and senior Nick Cozzi.
• Patrick (7-6-13) and Wardle (5-6-11) both have at least one point in seven of nine games this season. Sophomore Ryan Wartman (4-3-7) and juniors Danny Magnuson (2-5-7) and Will Dow-Kenny (1-6-7) are all tied for third on the team in scoring.
• Brandon (7-0-2, 1.13 GAA, .957 sv. pct) has posted three shutouts in nine starts and ranks fourth in Division III in both goals against average and save percentage.
SKATING ON HOME ICE
• The Beavers are 3-1-2 this season at the Babson Skating Center and 12-4-3 at home since the start of last season. This weekend wraps up a five-game homestand for the Beavers.
• The loss to Amherst on Sunday snapped a seven-game home unbeaten streak (5-0-2) going back to last season.
• Babson is 53-16-7 on home ice since 2017-18 and 97-19-12 at home since February of 2013.
NEHC IN THE RANKINGS
• Four NEHC teams are ranked in the top 15 of the Division III poll, the most of any conference, as defending national champion Hobart is No. 2, Elmira is No. 7, Norwich is No. 11 and Skidmore is No. 13.
• The rest of the poll includes three teams from the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), two each from the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC), the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC), and the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA), and one each from the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) and the United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC).
A PEEK AT THE OFFENSE
• The Beavers' 37 goals this season have come from 15 different players, including three first-years scoring their first career goal.
• The sophomores have accounted for 20 of the goals while the seniors and juniors have scored six each and the first-years have tallied five.
• The Green and White are 5-1-1 this season when scoring at least three goals and are 40-6-3 over the past three seasons with at least three goals.
BUSY BEAVERS
• Murphy has at least one point in nine of Babson's 11 games this season.
• Cormier has at least one point in three of his last four games and four of his last six.
• Andriole has at least one assist in five of his last seven outings.

Thomas Kramer has three multi-point games in his last five contests and Schmitt and George have at least one point in three of their last five.
NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Green and White are 4-1 when leading after the first period and are 14-2-1 over the past two seasons when taking a lead into the second period.
• The Beavers are 4-1 this season when scoring the first goal of the game after finishing 15-2-1 last season when drawing first blood.
