WHAT TO KNOW
•    The Babson women's basketball team travels to Waterville, Maine, to compete in the Colby Tip-Off Tournament along with Thomas, New England College and the host Mules beginning on Saturday afternoon.

SERIES HISTORY
vs. Thomas
•    Babson is 2-0 against the Terriers in a series that dates back to the 1981-82 campaign.
•    The last meeting came in 1989 when the Beavers defeated Thomas, 70-60, in the Babson Invitational Tournament. 
vs. Colby
•    Babson is 3-1 all-time against the Mules in a series that dates back to 2006. 
•    The teams last met in 2017 when Colby defeated the Beavers, 54-44, at the Springfield Naismith Classic. 
•    Three of the four meetings between the teams have been decided by six points or less, which includes a 76-73 2OT Babson win in the second round of the 2010 NCAA Tournament in its only previous visit to Waterville. 
vs. New England College
•    The Beavers are 2-0 all-time against the Pilgrims with both victories coming during the pandemic-shortened 2020-21 season. 
•    Babson won 90-24 at home on February 20 and followed it up with a 71-43 victory in Henniker, N.H., on February 21. 
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
•    No. 13 D3hoops.com/No. 15 WBCA Babson (1-1) cruised past Bridgewater State 87-64 on Tuesday night. 
•    Junior 
Katelyn Mollica led five players in double figures, classmate 
Abby Miller scored a career-high 14 points and senior 
Kelly Walsh and sophomore 
Chloe Perreault both chipped in with 11 points for the Beavers, who shot 47.1 percent. 
•    Walsh is averaging 16.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists in two starts, Perreault (14.0 pts, 9.0 reb, 2.0 blocks) is shooting 68.4 percent from the floor and Mollica (13.0 pts, 3.0 reb) is shooting at a 40 percent clip from beyond the arc. 
•    Babson was picked third in the NEWMAC preseason coaches poll after going 26-6 and advancing to the NCAA quarterfinals last winter. 
 
SCOUTING THE TERRIERS
•    Thomas (2-1) bounced back from its first loss of the season last Saturday by defeating UMass Boston, 66-62, last Sunday. 
•    Sky Kubwalo finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds and Hannah Coolen added 14 points and went 4-of-4 at the free throw line over the final 13 seconds for the Terriers, who outscored the Beacons 22-13 in the second quarter to seize command of the game. 
•    Kubwalo (11.3 pts, 9.3 reb) has posted a pair of double-doubles, Coolen is averaging 10.3 points and shooting 40 percent from three-point range, and Yaribel Pena has contributed 9.7 points on 45.8 percent shooting to start the year.
•    Thomas, which was picked to finish fourth in the NAC East Division preseason poll, went 4-21 last season. 
SCOUTING THE MULES
•    Colby (2-1) rebounded from last Sunday's loss to SUNY Canton with a 70-63 victory over MIT on Tuesday night in Cambridge, Mass. 
•    Kate Olenik scored 22 points on 9-of-14 shooting and Ana Von Rumohr came off the bench to score 15 points in her collegiate debut for the Mules, who shot 51.9 percent and led by as many as 20 late in the second quarter. 
•    Olenik (16.7 pts, 8.0 reb, 3.3 steals) is shooting 51.2 percent from the floor, Lydia Mordarski is averaging 10.3 points and 5.3 rebounds, and Carter McGloon is contributing 9.3 points and 5.0 boards in three starts on the year. 
•    Colby returns five of its top six scorers from a team that went 8-14 in 2022-23. 
SCOUTING THE PILGRIMS
•    New England College (2-2) snapped a two-game skid with a 54-45 win at Mount Holyoke on Wednesday night. 
•    Kathleen Rodriguez had 11 points and 10 rebounds and Macy Gordon added 10 points for the Pilgrims who led by 21 at halftime and were up 45-17 after three quarters.
•    Rodriguez (13.0 pts, 10.0 reb) is shooting 66.7 percent and has posted a pair of double-doubles, Makiah Scott is averaging 9.3 points and 3.3 rebounds, and Mackenzie McDonald has come off the bench to contribute 5.8 points and 2.3 boards in 14 minutes per game. 
•    New England College, which is in its first season in the GNAC, was picked ninth the preseason poll after going 10-13 last season. 
BEGINNING OF A NEW ERA
•    Tuesday's win was the first as head coach for first-year Babson head coach 
Kate Barnosky. 
•    Barnosky, who was selected as the eighth head coach in program history back in August, arrives at Babson following a two-year stint as the associate head coach at Wisconsin and three years as an assistant coach at Boston University. 
•    A three-time captain as a player at Tufts, Barnosky also spent five seasons as an assistant coach for the Jumbos helping them reach the Division III Final Four on four occasions, which includes two appearances in the national championship game. 
SCORING PUNCH
•    Going back to February 11 of last year, Walsh has now scored in double figures in 12 consecutive games. 
•    She is averaging 16.8 points and shooting 47.3 percent during this stretch and has scored 18 or more points six times. 
BENCH PRODUCTION
•    In addition to seeing four of its five starters finish in double figures on Tuesday at Bridgewater State, sophomores 
Claire McCarthy and 
Allessia Carlo also combined for 19 points off the bench in the second half. 
•    McCarthy finished with a career-high 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting and Carlo added nine points and was a perfect 4-of-4 at the free throw line.
NUMBERS TO KNOW
•    Since switching to quarters prior to the 2016-17 campaign, the Beavers are 124-7 when leading after the third. 
•    Babson is 20-3 since the start of last season when shooting 40 percent or better. 
•    The Green and White has lost just once over its last 20 games when outrebounding its opponents. 
•    The Beavers are 39-1 since the start of the 2020-21 campaign when scoring at least 70 points.
