Box Score BRUNSWICK, Maine—The Babson College women's tennis team won eight of 12 matches across singles and doubles to conclude play at the Bowdoin Invitational on Sunday afternoon.
The Beavers opened play by taking two of three doubles contests against Skidmore. Junior
Olivia Soffer (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and sophomore
Matia Cristiani (San Salvador, El Salvador) were 8-2 winners, while sophomores
Elena Keitt (Austin, Texas) and
Kamila Stasiowska (Burlington, Conn.) recorded an 8-3 victory. Senior
Adèle Fernández (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) and first-year
Chaniel Soffer (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) lost in a tiebreaker, 8-7 (12-10).
Babson dropped all three doubles matches against Middlebury but responded with wins in all six singles contests versus Bowdoin.
Olivia Soffer (6-2, 6-2), Cristiani (6-1, 6-1) and senior
Juliette Moschella (Little Silver, N.J.), who posted a 6-1, 6-2 result, all won in straight sets, while the trio of
Chaniel Soffer, junior
Laetitia Rizk (Beirut, Lebanon) and sophomore
Mariana Campos (Houston, Texas) won tight three-set affairs.
Soffer posted a 6-4, 4-6, 10-8 triumph, Rizk was a 6-2, 5-7, 12-10 winner and Campos rallied to recorded a 2-6, 6-2, 12-10 victory.
Babson will conclude the fall portion of its schedule this week as Cristiani and
Olivia Soffer travel to the ITA Cup in Rome, Ga., in addition to the team hosting Emerson in a dual match on Thursday.
