Mason Rosado (Weddington, N.C.) made his collegiate debut in goal for the Beavers and finished with 19 saves in the setback.
Sophomores Chase Freiermuth (Hastings, Minn.) and Collin Bella (Norwalk, Conn.) and first-years Vabrizio Mazzarelli (Penn Valley, Pa.) and Hayden Riva (Lakeville, Conn.) scored goals for the hosts, and sophomore Justin Ross (Calgary, Alberta) and juniors Jared Gerger (Jeannette, Pa.), Tyler Buonopane (North Andover, Mass.), and Griffen Sanom (Berkley, Mich.) collected assists in the win. The Beavers had the shot advantage in the third period as well to no avail as Kruss turned away all eight attempts. Mazzarelli scored a key goal for Lake Forest just 57 seconds into the period to prevent Babson from cutting into the margin, and Riva sealed the win with a goal at 11:49 to round out the scoring.
Babson finished with a 34-23 advantage in shots for the game and both teams ended up 0-for-2 on the power play.
