WHAT TO KNOW
•    Junior Olivia Soffer and sophomore Matia Cristiani will travel to the ITA Cup in Rome, Ga., while their teammates conclude the fall with a dual match against Emerson at the Babson Tennis Complex on Thursday afternoon. 

GEORGIA ON MY MIND
•    Cristiani, who captured the ITA New England Championships singles title on September 24, is seeded fourth in a 16-player draw, while her and Soffer are seeded second in the 16-team doubles bracket. 
•    Soffer became the first Babson player to qualify for the ITA Cup last season and advanced to the semifinals of the singles draw. She also advanced to the NCAA Division III singles final and paired with Cristiani to advance to the final of the NCAA doubles tournament last May. 
•    The ITA Cup brings together the singles and doubles finalists from eight regional championships played this fall. Soffer and Cristiani are the first Babson doubles pairing to qualify for the event. 

NEWMAC BATTLE AT HOME
•    The Beavers will play their only dual match of the fall while also opening conference play against Emerson. 
•    Babson has dominated the all-time series against the Lions winning all nine meetings since 2012, which includes seven consecutive 9-0 victories. 

LAST MEETING
•    Seniors Jane Wang and Juliette Moschella, sophomore Elena Keitt and Morgan Mann '23 all recorded wins in both singles and doubles as the Beavers cruised to a 9-0 win over Emerson on April 2, 2023, in Babson Park. 
•    Babson dropped just one game across three singles matches and got 6-0, 6-0 victories in singles from Wang, Mann, Olivia Soffer and senior Adèle Fernández. 

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
•    Babson (0-0) returns 11 players from a team that finished 16-2 and advanced to the program's first NCAA Tournament regional final last spring. 
•    The Beavers competed at the Bowdoin Invitational against the host Polar Bears, Middlebury and Skidmore last weekend going 15-3 in singles and 4-5 in doubles. 
•    Cristiani is 9-0, Olivia Soffer is 6-1 and junior transfer Laetitia Rizk has gone 4-1 in singles to begin the season. 
•    Olivia Soffer and Cristiani are 11-0 in doubles, while the pairings of sophomores Mariana Campos and Kamila Stasiowski and Fernandez and first-year Chaniel Soffer are both 3-2. 

SCOUTING THE LIONS
•    Emerson (0-3) is coming off 6-3 losses to both Colby-Sawyer and Gordon back on September 24. 
•    Amanda Perry won singles matches against both opponents and Gabrille McGovern and Briones Amaya recorded an 8-2 victory at number two doubles versus Colby-Sawyer. 
•    The Lions finished 4-14 overall and 1-7 in the NEWMAC last season. 

RECORD WATCH
•    Olivia Soffer heads to the ITA Cup just two wins shy of the combined singles and doubles victories record of 107 set by Rebecca Stone '12. 
•    She is currently tied with Francesca Russo '06 with 105 wins (58 singles, 47 doubles) and is one of just eight players in Babson history with more than 100 combined victories.
