No. 9/10 Women's Basketball at Springfield

SERIES HISTORY
• Babson is 34-13 all-time against Springfield in a series that dates back to 1993.
• The Beavers have won 11 of their last 13 games against the Pride, which includes three victories in four tries over the last 13 months.
• Three of the last five meetings between the teams have been decided by five points or less.

LAST MEETING
• Junior Kelly Walsh scored a game-high 17 points to go along with seven rebounds, four assists and three steals as the Beavers defeated Springfield, 75-55, on January 11 in Babson Park.
• Sophomore Katelyn Mollica scored 15 points and seniors Megan Bauman and Samantha Smith added 10 points apiece for Babson, which shot 46.9 percent and led by as many as 28 early in the fourth quarter.
• Senior Sam Hourihan posted a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while classmate Rachel Vinton contributed 12 points, four assists and three steals to lead the Pride.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• No. 9/10 Babson (16-2, 3-0 NEWMAC) bounced back from Monday's loss to Trinity with a 103-25 rout of Mount Holyoke on Wednesday.
• First-year Chloe Perreault recorded her first collegiate double-double with 19 points and 14 rebounds, sophomore Emily Flynn scored a career-high 13 points and Smith added 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting for the Beavers, who led 53-11 at halftime.
• Bauman (13.2 pts, 4.9 ast, 3.6 reb) ranks second in the NEWMAC in assists, Walsh (11.7 pts, 4.4 reb, 2.2 steals) is fifth in the conference in steals and Smith (11.6 pts, 7.8 reb, 2.3 blocks) is shooting 45.9 percent and ranks second in the league in blocked shots.
• The Green and White ranks 38th in Division III in field goal percentage defense (33.0) and is allowing just 55.8 points per game.

SCOUTING THE PRIDE
• Springfield (12-6, 2-1 NEWMAC) suffered its first conference loss of the season falling 61-58 to MIT on Wednesday night.
• Angela Czeremcha had a season-high 19 points and 13 rebounds and Hourihan finished with 14 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists and six blocks for the Pride, which trailed by as many as 14 with under six minutes to go in the fourth quarter.
• Hourihan (16.9 pts, 8.9 reb, 2.7 blocks) leads the NEWMAC in blocked shots and is second in the league with seven double-doubles, Vinton (10.5 pts, 5.8 reb, 3.7 ast) is shooting 47.9 percent, and Czeremcha (8.1 pts, 6.5 reb) has recorded three double-doubles this winter.
• Springfield is allowing just 55.6 points per game on the year but has been held to 60 points or less in six of its last eight outings.

PRODUCING AGAINST THE PRIDE
• Bauman is averaging 15.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.7 assists while shooting 50 percent from the floor in six career games against Springfield.
• Walsh is averaging 13.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 steals and is shooting 43.5 percent in four games against the Pride over the last two seasons.

LIFE ON THE ROAD
• Over the final three-plus weeks of the regular season the Beavers are set to play road games against three of the top teams in the NEWMAC – Springfield, Smith and WPI.
• The Green and White has gone 33-4 on the road against conference foes dating back to the 2016-17 campaign with just two of the losses coming during the regular season.

CLIMBING THE CHARTS
• Smith currently ranks ninth with 97 career rejections and needs just three more to became the ninth player in school history to record at least 100 blocked shots.
• Bauman ranks second in Babson history with 364 assists, which is now just 12 shy of the program record of 376 set by Giovanna Picekering '17 from 2013-17.

BENCH MOB
• In addition to Perreualt and Flynn, sophomores Meghan Goode and Camille Minor both set new season highs in scoring with nine points apiece at Mount Holyoke.
• First-year Allessia Carlo contributed eight points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals, while Goode and sophomore Camilla Silk combined to hand out seven assists against the Lyons. 

NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Beavers are 14-0 on the year when holding its opponents below 60 points.
• Babson is 10-0 this winter and 33-3 over the last three seasons when outrebounding its opponents.
• The Beavers have held their first three conference opponents to just 23.7 percent shooting and 0.54 points per possession.
• The Green and White is 7-1 this season and has won 25 of its last 26 games when forcing 18 or more turnovers going back to 2020-21.
