LAKE PLACID, N.Y.—Junior Ryan Beardsley (Warren, Vt.) recorded the top two-run time of the day to help the Babson College men's alpine ski team finish second in the giant slalom at Whiteface Mountain on Friday.

The Beavers finished 2.53 seconds ahead of third-place Clarkson to come in second for the fourth race in a row to begin the season. Castleton swept the top three spots on the individual leaderboard to claim its fourth straight victory to start the year.

Beardsley placed sixth overall posting a two-run time of 1:53.49 that was just over a second off the pace set by Aksel Stroem-Hansen of Castleton. First-year Max Bellino (Shrewsbury, Mass.) finished ninth in a time of 1:54.28, while senior Zach Roman (Waitsfield, Vt.) came in 12th in a time of 1:57.97 in his season debut.

Fellow senior Jack Beney (Greenwich, Conn.) finished 14th in 1:58.29 and junior Henness Hoffmann (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) took 22nd with a two-run time of 2:01.91.

Babson concludes the weekend at Whiteface Mountain with another giant slalom race on Saturday beginning at 9:30 a.m.
