GREENWICH, N.Y.—Junior Ryan Beardsley (Warren, Vt.) came in second overall and the Babson College men's alpine ski team placed three competitors in the top five on the way to finishing second in the slalom under the lights at Willard Ski Area on Saturday night.
The Beavers' top three skiers posted a time of 3:09.18, which was just over a second behind first-place Castleton. Clarkson finished a distant third in the race.
Beardsley posted a two-run time of 1:02.46 to record his first podium finish of the season. First-year Max Bellino (Shrewsbury, Vt.) came in fourth with a time of 1:02.77 and junior Kyle Wolff (Stratham, N.H.) was right behind him in fifth position with a time of 1:03.95.
First-year Finn Horsley (Salt Lake City, Utah) placed 10th in 1:05.00, senior Jack Beney (Greenwich, Conn.) finished 13th with a time of 1:05.99 and junior Kyle Goldberg (Manchester, N.H.) crossed the finish line with a time of 1:08.79 to claim 24th place.
Babson is back in action next Friday when it travels to Whiteface Mountain in Lake Placid, N.Y.
