Box Score BABSON PARK, Mass.—Sophomore Katelyn Mollica (Foxborough, Mass.) scored a team-high 15 points and senior Megan Bauman (East Lyme, Conn.) added 13, including her 1,000th career point, as No. 11/11 Babson College rolled past Clark University, 70-42, in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's basketball opener Wednesday evening inside Staake Gymnasium.
With the win, Babson earned its seventh consecutive victory to improve to 14-1 on the year and 1-0 in the conference, while Clark dropped its second straight NEWMAC game and fell to 9-8 overall and 0-2 in league play.
Mollica knocked down 6-of-10 shots, including 3-of-6 from 3-point range, while Bauman added five rebounds and four assists to her night for the Beavers. Junior Kelly Walsh (Goffstown, N.H.) added 11 points, six rebounds and five assists and classmate Rachel McMenemy (Northborough, Mass.) chipped in with seven points and a team-high nine rebounds to lead a balanced Beaver attack.

It was a one or two possession game in the first quarter until Babson pulled ahead by seven (18-11) on a pair of Bauman free throws. The lead reached nine points late in the frame but Clark cut it to six (23-17) at the end of the quarter on a three-pointer by Faulise. Mollica led the Beavers with seven points in the opening stanza while Faulise led all scorers with eight points.
Sophomore Camilla Silk (Medfield, Mass.) and Bauman hit back-to-back baskets for Babson to open the second quarter, extending the margin to double digits for the first time, 27-17. The Beavers slowly pulled away, pushing the lead to 16 points on Mollica's third three-pointer with 3:21 on the clock and to 18 on a Bauman jumper with two minutes to play. McMenemy converted an offensive rebound into a bucket right before the horn to put the hosts up 40-20 at the intermission.
The Cougars came alive to start the third quarter, outscoring the hosts 9-5 over the first five minutes of the period to pull to within 16 points. The teams traded hoops much of the rest of the period, sending the Beavers into the final quarter up 56-35.
Bauman reached the 1,000-point milestone a minute into the fourth quarter on a three-pointer from the left side, sending the crowd into a frenzy and putting Babson up 59-35. Bauman became the 18th player in program history to reach the milestone.
The large lead allowed Babson reserves to see action and they extended the lead to 29 points before closing out the game as 11 different players scored and 16 players saw playing time.
Babson shot 38.8 percent from the field and 37.5 from three-point range while Clark made just 29.6 percent of its shots and went 2-of-11 from beyond the arc. The Beavers outrebounded the visitors 50-34.
