SERIES HISTORY
• The Beavers have a 15-2-1 margin over the Golden Bears in a series that dates back to 1990, including a 7-0-1 mark at Hartwell-Roger Field.
• Babson has won the last three meetings between the two schools, with WNE's last win coming in 2009 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
LAST MEETING
• Junior Samuel Kalishman scored his second goal of the game in the 85th minute to help 19th-ranked Babson defeat Western New England, 2-1, on September 15, 2021 at Suprenant Field in Springfield.
• Kalishman's first goal gave Babson a 1-0 lead in the 36th minute. Beaver goalkeeper Itai Rubin '22 finished with a season-high six saves for the Beavers, four of which came during the opening 45 minutes.
• Senior Ian Alves scored in the 41st minute for the Golden Bears, who got three saves from Brady Allen.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• No. 22 Babson (2-1-1) is coming off a 1-1 draw against Williams in the home opener on Sunday.
• Graduate student Ben Williams scored the tying goal on a give-and-go with Kalishman in the 81st minute as the Beavers pulled out the tie. Sophomore Walker White made two saves in goal for the Beavers.
• Kalishman (2-1-5) leads the team in scoring while both goals by Williams (2-0-4) have come in the final 10 minutes of a win and a tie. Graduate student Ryan Goss, senior Mitchell Collins, junior Shamar Rainford and sophomore Louis Gazo all have one goal and one assist each.
• White (1.30 GAA, 10 saves) has started all four matches between the pipes for the Green and White.
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN BEARS
• Western New England (3-1-1) followed up three straight victories with a 1-1 tie against Keene State Saturday in Wilbraham, Mass.
• Sophomore Mike Milazzo scored the Golden Bears' goal with just 19 seconds left in the first half with an assist from senior Sean O'Neill. Sophomore keeper Jacob Wadas made three saves in goal.
• First-year Matt Spruill (3-0-6) leads the team in scoring along with classmate Carlson Rose (2-1-5). Senior Sean Lanzillo and juniors Malik Serriser and Roger Leland have one goal and two assists apiece and O'Neill tops the team with three assists.
• Wadas (0.94 GAA, 14 saves) has started three matches between the pipes for the Golden Bears and junior Ryan Suprin (3.03 GAA, 4 saves) has gotten the nod in the other two.
NATIONAL RANKINGS
• Babson moved into the United Soccer Coaches Division III rankings this week at No. 22.
• The Beavers are also No. 2 in the United Soccer Coaches Region II rankings behind Brandeis.
COMMON OPPONENT
• Babson and Western New England have one common opponent in the early going this season - Brandeis.
• The Golden Bears lost their season opener to the Judges 4-1 in Springfield on September 1, while the Beavers dropped a 2-1 verdict last Saturday in Waltham.
BALANCED SCORING
• Babson's nine goals this season have come from seven different players and 13 players have collected at least one point.
HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE
• The Beavers are 21-6-6 in their last 33 games at Hartwell-Rogers Field dating back to 2018 and are 41-16-10 at home since 2015.
• The Green and White were 6-3-3 at home last season.
NUMBERS TO KNOW
• Babson has won its last nine games when scoring at least two goals dating back to last season. The Green and White are 43-3 since the start of 2016 when scoring at least twice.
