SERIES HISTORY
• Babson is 18-8-2 all-time against the Bantams in a series that dates back to the 1969-70 season.
• The Beavers have captured six in a row over Trinity, including a 3-0 shutout last March in the first round of the NCAA Tournament inside the Babson Skating Center, which was the first contest between the two schools since 2010.
• Tuesday's game will be the first since 2009 in Bantam territory, where the Green and White have won the last three encounters.
LAST MEETING
• Defenseman Ryan Campbell '22 scored one goal and assisted on another and Brad Arvanitis '22G made 27 saves in goal to help No. 5 Babson blank No. 14 Trinity, 3-0, on March 12, 2022, in the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament.
• Ryan Black '22 and John Corrigan '22 also scored for the Beavers and classmate Mike Egan '22 and junior Thomas Kramer registered assists. Arvanitis posted his first shutout of the season and the fifth of his career and was aided by 18 blocked shots by the Beaver defense.
• Junior J.P. Mella, who allowed just one goal in three conference tournament games, made 21 saves on 23 shots but took the loss.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• No. 6 Babson (7-3-2, 4-2-2) is looking to bounce back from a 4-3 New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) loss to New England College on Saturday afternoon inside the Babson Skating Center.
• First-year Brendan Kennedy, junior Colby Bailey and sophomore Wyatt George scored for the Beavers, and Kramer, seniors Andrew Holland and Chris Rooney and first-years Nolan Dion and Charlie Andriole collected assists. Senior goalie Nolan Hildebrand made 15 saves in the setback as Babson finished with a 65-19 advantage in shots on goal.
• Kramer also scored Babson's only goal, with an assist from first-year Ryan Murphy, in a 1-1 overtime tie Friday night against No. 10 Norwich in a battle of top 10 teams. Hildebrand finished with 28 saves in the deadlock.
• Kramer (3-7-10) is tied for sixth in the NEHC in scoring and tied for seventh in assists while Holland (4-4-8) and senior James Perullo (3-5-8) are tied for 16th in points. Hildebrand (4-1-2, 2.04 GAA, .939 sv. pct) is fourth in the NEHC in save percentage and tied for sixth in goals against average.
SCOUTING THE BANTAMS
• Previously No. 10 Trinity (3-3-0, 2-2-0 NESCAC) dropped a pair of conference road games last weekend, falling to Hamilton on Friday, 3-1, and Amherst on Saturday, 3-2, dipping into the receiving votes category in the Division III poll.
• Senior Riley Prattson scored both goals in the loss to Amherst, while classmate Jacob Borgida, juniors Kyle Tomaso and Casey Rhodes and first-year David Paluch recorded assists. Mella made 20 saves in the setback.
• Sophomore Nicholas Siffringer notched the lone goal in the third period in the setback at Hamilton, with assists from Borgida and Tomaso. Mella totaled 23 saves between the pipes and shouldered the loss.
• Jax Murray (4-4-8) leads the Bantams in scoring along with Gerrard Maretta (3-4-7), who has a pair of game-winning goals. Paul Selleck (2-3-5) and Spencer Korona (1-4-5) are also key contributors. Mella (2-3, 2.99 GAA, 88.7 sv. pct) has started five of the six games in goal for the Bantams.
BABSON VS. THE NESCAC
• Tuesday's contest is the fourth and final Babson match-up this season against teams from the NESCAC. The Beavers are 2-1 against the NESCAC, with wins over Tufts (3-2) and Amherst (3-1) sandwiched around a 2-1 overtime loss at Williams.
• The Green and White went 5-0 against the NESCAC last season and are 9-1-1 vs. the conference since the start of the 2019-20 season.
OH, SHOOT
• Babson's 65 shots on goal in Saturday's game vs. New England College was a season-high and the most in a game in more than a decade.
• The Beavers peppered the opponent with at least 60 shots twice last season, 63 in a 6-0 win at Johnson & Wales on November 12, and 64 in a 3-3 overtime tie against Castleton on November 19.
• Andrew Holland leads the team this season with 43 shots on goal, while first-year Will Holland has 35 attempts and Kramer and George 32 each.
BALANCED OFFENSE
• Babson's 36 goals this season have come from 18 different players, as three players have scored four times, two have scored three and five have scored twice.
• Ten players have scored their first career goals this season for the Beavers.
PLUS-MINUS
• Will Holland sits is second place the NEHC in plus/minus rating at +12, while Perullo and graduate student Max Torrez are tied for 10th at +8.
NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Beavers are 4-2-1 on the road this season and are 24-8-2 away from home since the start of the 2019-20 season.
• Babson has won all six games this season when taking a lead into the third period and is 61-0-2 when leading after two periods since 2017-18.
• The Green and White was 70-9-5 since the 2017-18 season when scoring at least three goals before Saturday's loss to New England College.
