With the win, Babson snapped a two-game losing skid and improved to 8-4-2 overall while Saint Michael's dropped its second in a row and slipped to 4-8-1 on the season.

First-year goalie Cole Manahan (Hermantown, Minn.) made 21 saves on 26 shots in 35 minutes of relief of junior Marshall Murphy (Little Canada, Minn.), who made 12 saves on 16 shots in the first 24 minutes.

Babson took a 2-0 lead in a first period that featured nine shots on goal for each team. Murphy scored both goals for the Beavers, both assisted by Kramer and Kennedy. Murphy pounded in a rebound of his own shot at 7:32 and then buried a crossing pass from Kramer at 11:35 to make it a 2-0 game.

The Beavers doubled the margin in the first five minutes of the second frame. Torrez put one in at 3:05 from the back door on the left after a feed from the right side by first-year Ian Driscoll (Middleton, Mass.) and Kramer scored his first of the night at 4:26 by ripping a drop pass from Murphy in the slot into the top right corner of the goal to make it 4-0.

The Green and White blew the game open with three goals during a five-minute power play in the middle frame after a major penalty was called on the visitors. George buried a rebound at 11:07, Kramer tipped in a shot from the point by junior Colby Bailey (Southborough, Mass.) at 12:43, and Holland scored on a feed from Schmitt at 14:18 to extend the margin to 7-0.

Rooney continued the onslaught with a back-door goal on a pass from first-year Cam Joslin (Cohasset, Mass.) at 7:14 of the third period. The Purple Knights broke up the shutout with less than seven minutes remaining when Taylor slipped a shot through the pads of Hildebrand to cap off a 2-on-1 with McCarthy. Stevens rounded out the scoring for the Beavers with three minutes remaining on a shot from point-bland range.

Babson finished with a 42-18 margin in shots on goal, scored three power play goals on the afternoon and killed off its only shorthanded situation.
