SERIES HISTORY
• Babson and Swarthmore will meet for the first time on Thursday afternoon.

BABSON IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT
• The Beavers are making their fifth straight NCAA Tournament appearance and the program's seventh overall going back to 2014.
• The Green and White reached the second round of the Rochester (N.Y.) Regional in 2021 and has appeared in a pair of regional finals (2017, 2018) and reached the national quarterfinals for the first time in school history in 2018.
• Babson is 6-0 all-time in NCAA Tournament first-round matches.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
NCAA Tournament Appearance: 7th
Best NCAA Finish: 2018 quarterfinalist
• Babson (21-8) earned an at-large bid for the second year in a row after suffering a four-set loss to No. 20 MIT in Sunday's NEWMAC Tournament final.
• Junior Lauren Gips finished with a career-high 19 kills, Izzy Seebold dished out 37 assists and senior Lauren MacDonald contributed a career-best eight blocks for the Beavers, who held a four-point lead late in the fourth set.
• Gips leads the Green and White in kills per set (2.78), blocks per set (0.90) and hitting percentage (.321), first-year Isabella Allen is averaging 2.72 kills per set and senior Martina Jankovic Chin (2.41 k/s, 53 blocks) is hitting .225 on the year.
• Seebold is handing out 10.08 assists per set which ranks 12th in Division III, first-year Roz Cabuena is averaging a team-high 4.52 digs per set and sophomore Tatum Stelter is contributing 3.30 digs.

SCOUTING THE GARNET
NCAA Tournament Appearance: 2nd
Best NCAA Finish: 2017 quarterfinalist
• Swarthmore (17-8), which finished second in the Centennial Conference, had its seven-match winning streak snapped with a 3-1 loss to Franklin & Marshall in the conference semifinals last Friday.
• Centennial Conference Player of the Year Kaylee Zhang finished with 15 kills and 14 digs, while Dani Pena dished out 29 assists to go along with nine digs for the Garnet, which is making its first NCAA appearance since reaching the quarterfinals in 2017.
• Zhang is hitting .242 and averaging 3.55 kills and 3.27 digs per set, Trisha Razdan (2.88 k/s) is hitting .267 and Jordan Perry is contributing 1.98 kills and 1.86 digs per set this fall.
• Pena is handing out 8.78 assists, while Ellie Streeper is averaging a team-high 4.08 digs per set.

BEAVERS' DUO EARNS ALL-NEWMAC HONORS
• Gips and Seebold were two of seven players named to the all-conference first team on Wednesday.
• Gips ranks fourth in the NEWMAC in hitting percentage and points per set, fifth in kills per set and seventh in blocks per set.
• Seebold's 766 assists this fall rank 11th on Babson's single-season list and her 10.08 assists per set average is the highest in program history.

BLOCK PARTY
• The Beavers finished with a season-high 13 total blocks in Sunday's loss to MIT and averaged 2.82 blocks per set in three NEWMAC Tournament matches.
• Babson's 31 total blocks are its most over a three-match stretch since 2015 when it recorded 39 total blocks in wins over Emerson, Rivier and Roger Williams.

LITTLE IN COMMON
• The Beavers, who have not faced a Centennial Conference opponent since suffering a 3-2 loss to Haverford back in 2013, and Swarthmore share just one common opponent during the 2022 campaign.
• Babson defeated Clark, 3-0, on October 1 and 3-1 last Tuesday in a NEWMAC Tournament quarterfinal, while the Garnet beat the Cougars in a close three-set match on September 9.

ON A TEAR
• Over her last four matches, Jankovic Chin has totaled 54 kills and 15 blocks and is averaging 3.85 kills and 1.07 blocks per set to go along with a hitting .280 hitting percentage.
• She set a new career high with 17 kills against Smith in the Beavers' regular season finally on October 29 and had 10 kills while matching her season high with five blocks in Sunday's loss at MIT.

BEAVER BITES
• In three NEWMAC Tournament matches, junior Lulu McShane averaged 2.55 kills per set and hit .247, while MacDonald contributed 2.36 kills and 1.27 blocks per set.
• Seebold dished out 10.55 assists and finished the week with 11 total blocks.
• The trio of junior Olivia Leinenweber, sophomore Tatum Stelter and first-year Sophia Shaw combined to average 7.55 digs per set and finished with a total of 12 service aces in matches against Clark, Springfield and MIT.

NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Beavers are 18-0 this season and 69-3 going back to 2019 when winning the first set.
• Babson is 14-0 on the year when hitting .200 or better and 18-0 when its opponents hit .150 or below.
• The Green and White is 10-1 when registering more blocks than its opponents this fall.
• Babson is 16-2 when recording more service aces on the year.
• The Beavers are 5-2 in neutral court matches this season.

UP NEXT
• The winner of Thursday's match will face either No. 19 Tufts or Maine Maritime Academy on Friday at 7 p.m.
