SERIES HISTORY
• Babson is 17-2-0 all-time against Tufts in a series that dates back to the 1991-92 campaign.
• The Beavers have won five consecutive games against the Jumbos, and have taken six of the last seven games played in Jumbo territory.
• The two Jumbo victories came back-to-back in 2009 and 2010 after the Green and White had won the first dozen meeting in the series.
LAST MEETING
• The line of Ryan Black '22, Mike Egan '22 and junior Thomas Kramer combined for five goals and three assists to lead the No. 9 Beavers to a 7-5 victory over Tufts 0n November 23, 2021, inside the Babson Skating Center.
• Black tallied two goals and two assists while Egan also produced a two-goal game and Kramer finished with a goal and assist to lead the Beavers. Cam Schmitt '22 and Matt Wiesner '22 also scored for Babson and Aidan Murphy '22 picked up the win in goal after making 20 saves.
• Justin Brandt '22 scored twice to lead the Jumbos, while Tom Tresca '22 and Angus Scott '22 collected a goal and two assists each. Brendan Skarda '22 also scored for Tufts in the loss, and junior goalie Ryan Welch had a busy night in goal, finishing with 51 saves in his collegiate debut.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• No. 7 Babson (5-1-1, 4-1-1 NEHC) is unbeaten in its last five games (4-0-1) after a 4-1 win at Castleton on Saturday. The Beavers also came back from a 3-0 deficit to tie Skidmore 3-3 on Friday evening. The Beavers' only loss this season was to Hobart, who is now ranked No. 1 in the USCHO Division III poll.
• First-years Tommy Rooney and Nolan Woudenberg notched their first career goals against Castleton, and senior Chris Rooney and sophomore Wyatt George also scored for the Beavers. First-year goalie Nate Mueller made 33 saves in goal to record the win.
• Senior James Perullo (Revere, Mass.) tallied a goal and an assist against Skidmore, including a third-period short-handed goal that tied the game. Junior Colby Bailey and first-year Ian Driscoll scored power play goals for the Beavers and senior Nolan Hildebrand made a career-high 42 saves in the deadlock.
• Hildebrand (3-0-1, 1.93 GAA, .943 Sv.pct) and Mueller (2-1-0, 2.67 GAA, .923 Sv.pct) have split goaltending duties the last three weekends.
SCOUTING THE JUMBOS
• Tufts (0-2-0, 0-2-0 NESCAC) dropped its first two games of the season on the road last weekend, falling 10-3 at No. 12 Trinity and 2-1 at Wesleyan.
• First-year Max Resnick scored a hat trick in his collegiate debut to account for all of the scoring in the loss to Trinity. Tufts played three goalies with Peyton Durand making 13 saves in 48 minutes and Ryan Welch five and Spencer Rose three in relief.
• Resnick scored his fourth consecutive goal to start the season five minutes into the game in the Wesleyan game, but the Cardinals tallied a pair of third-period goals, including the game-winner with 24 remaining. Durand stopped 24 shots for Tufts.
• Resnick (4-0-4) and Brennan Horn (0-3-3) were the only multi-point scorers on the weekend. Sophomore Tyler Sedlak (6-9-15) and juniors Mason Kohl (2-9-11) and Cam Newton (5-5-10) are the top returning scorers from last year.
BABSON VS. THE NESCAC
• Tuesday's game is the first of three straight and four of the next six Babson games against schools from the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC).
• The Beavers will travel to Williams and Amherst this coming weekend and will visit No. 12 Trinity on December 6.
• The Green and White was 5-0-0 against the NESCAC last season, including a 3-0 win over Trinity in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
SHORT-HANDED BEAVERS
• The Beavers have scored nearly as many times while on the penalty kill (4) as they have given up (7).
• This year's four shorthanded goals for the Beavers are more than the previous four seasons combined and Babson's most since scoring five times on the penalty kill during the 2014-15 season.
SPREADING THE WEALTH
• The Beavers' 25 goals this season have come from 15 different players, including eight first-years scoring their first career goal.
• Nine players are within two points of the scoring lead, as three players have six points, four have five points and two more have four.
NEHC LEADERS
• Andrew Holland is tied for sixth in the league with four goals and Kramer, Torrez and Will Holland are tied for ninth with five assists each.
• Will Holland is tied for league lead in +/- with a +9 total through five games. Egan Schmitt is tied for fifth with two PPG and Andrew Holland shares the league lead with two shorties.
• Hildebrand is fourth in the NEHC with a .943 save percentage and sixth with a 1.93 GAA.
NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Beavers are 5-0-1 when scoring at least three goals this season and have won 46 of their last 52 games (46-4-2) when scoring at least three times going back to the start of the 2019-20 season.
• Babson has scored at least one power play goal in five out of seven games this season, going 3-1-1 in those five.
• Tuesday will be the third of five straight road games for the Green and White, who are 2-1-1 away from home this season and 15-5-1 on the road the last three years.
