No. 21/25 Women's Basketball at Rhode Island College

SERIES HISTORY
• Babson is 4-1 all-time against Rhode Island College in a series that dates back to 1998.
• The Beavers have won four straight meetings against the Anchorwomen although last season's contest was the first between the squads since 2014.

LAST MEETING
• Junior Kelly Walsh scored a game-high 23 points to lead three players in double figures as the Beavers defeated Rhode Island College, 77-62, on November 17, 2021, in Babson Park.
• Walsh finished 10-of-15 from the floor while sophomore Anika Chinthakunta added 14 points and senior Megan Bauman scored 13 for the Beavers, who led by as many as 27 early in the fourth quarter.
• Senior Jeniyah Jones had 11 points and eight rebounds, while sophomore Angelina Nardolillo chipped in with 10 points to lead the Anchorwomen.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• No. 21/25 Babson (1-0) opened the season with a 77-69 win at Eastern Connecticut State on Saturday.
• Senior Samantha Smith and sophomore Katelyn Mollica both scored 14 points and sophomore Camilla Silk added 13 points on 6-of-6 shooting for the Beavers, who shot 57.1 percent and led by as many as 21 late in the second quarter.
• Babson returns its top eight scorers and 11 players in all from a team that finished 20-8 and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament last March.
• Bauman (13.1 pts, 4.7 ast, 3.5 reb) earned her second consecutive WBCA All-America honorable mention and All-NEWMAC first-team honors last winter, while Smith averaged career highs of 10.5 points and 6.9 rebounds on the way to collecting all-league second-team accolades.

SCOUTING THE ANCHORWOMEN
• Rhode Island College (1-1) suffered a 76-41 loss to No. 7/9 Smith in the championship game of the Tyler Tip-Off Tournament on Sunday afternoon.
• Senior Izabelle Booth knocked down four three-pointers and scored 16 points for the Anchorwomen, who shot just 25.9 percent after opening the season with a win over TCNJ on Saturday.
• Rhode Island College was picked to finish first in the Little East Conference preseason poll after returning four starters and 10 players in all from a team that went 23-6 and reached the NCAA Tournament last winter.
• Nardillo (10.7 pts, 6.6 reb) led last year's squad in scoring and rebounding, senior Antonia Corsinetti (8.7 pts) knocked down 54 three-pointers and Booth contributed 7.4 points and 5.3 boards for a team that allowed just 49.7 points per game.

BALANCED BEAVERS
• The Green and White finished with five players in double figures for the first time early in the abbreviated 2021 campaign in last Saturday's win at Eastern Connecticut.
• Bauman had 12 points and Walsh scored 11 points joining Smith, Mollica and Silk in double figures.

TOURNAMENT TESTED
• Wednesday's contest at Rhode Island College marks the first of seven games the Beavers will play against teams that reached the NCAA Tournament last season.
• The Green and White will face No. 16/20 Springfield twice to go along with matchups against No. 7/9 Smith, No. 10/11 Tufts, Framingham State and Roger Williams in its home opener on Saturday.

NUMBERS TO KNOW
• Babson attempted just five three-pointers in its season opener, which matches its fewest shots from beyond the arc since a 65-47 win at WPI on January 4, 2017.
• Head coach Judy Blinstrub picked up the 694th victory of her career on Saturday and ranks fourth in wins among active Division III coaches.
• The Beavers went 16-3 last season when holding their opponents below 40 percent shooting.
• Babson is 64-1 going back to the 2018-19 campaign when leading entering the fourth quarter.

• The Beavers welcome Roger Williams to Staake Gymnasium for their home opener on Saturday at 1 p.m.
