SERIES HISTORY
• Babson is 2-0-1 all-time against Connecticut College in a series that dates back to 1997.
• Wednesday's match will be the first between the sides since 2019 and just the third matchup going back to 2009.
LAST MEETING
• Senior Eamon Keenan scored the go-ahead goal in the 88th minute to lift the Beavers to a 2-1 win over Connecticut College on October 15, 2019, in Babson Park.
• Andrew Josephs '21 tied the match in the 80th minute for Babson, which got eight saves from Steven Heintzelman '20.
• The Camels, who controlled play for much of the first half, went in front a goal by Steve Yeaonas in the 32nd minute.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• No. 15/19 Babson (8-2-2) is unbeaten over its last five matches and is coming off a 3-0 win over 25th-ranked Coast Guard on Saturday.
• Senior RJ Parrilla and juniors Louis Gazo and Shamar Rainford each had a goal, while senior Mitchell Collins finished with two assists for the Beavers, who needed sophomore goalkeeper Walker White to make just one save to keep their fourth straight clean sheet.
• Graduate student Ben Williams (7-2-16) leads the squad with three game-winning goals, Gazo (3-4-10) has a point in four of his last five matches, Rainford (4-1-9) has converted a pair of penalties, and the duo of Collins (1-6-8) and graduate student Ryan Goss (1-6-8) are tied for the team lead in assists.
• White has started all 11 matches this fall and boasts a 0.91 goals against average and a .722 save percentage to go along with three shutouts.
SCOUTING THE CAMELS
• No. 22 Connecticut College (5-3-2) had its two-game winning streak snapped in a 1-0 loss at No. 12/15 Middlebury on Saturday.
• Peter Silvester finished with five saves for the Camels, who conceded just 5:15 into the contest and were reduced to 10 men following a red card in the 44th minute.
• Senior Augie Djerdjaj (4-1-9) has buried a pair of penalty kicks, Yeonas (3-2-8) and first-year Gavin Vanden Berg (3-1-7) each have one game-winning marker, and Matt Scoffone (3-0-6) has scored twice over the last five games.
• Silverster (2-2-0) has started the last four matches and boasts a 0.58 goals against average and a .857 save percentage to go along with two shutouts in seven total appearances on the year.
HANLON NABS NEWMAC WEEKLY HONORS
• Babson senior center back Liam Hanlon was selected as the league's defensive player of the week on Tuesday.
• He played 135 minutes over two matches as the Beavers limited Suffolk and Coast Guard to just four shots on target while extending their scoreless minutes streak to 373 going back to September 24.
BEAVERS VS. THE DEFENDING CHAMPS
• Wednesday night marks the fourth time since 2017 that the Beavers will face the Division III national champion from the previous season.
• The Green and White is 1-2 in its three previous matches, which includes a 2-0 win that snapped Tufts' 30-game unbeaten streak in 2019 and overtime losses to the Jumbos in both 2017 and 2021.
• Connecticut College defeated Amherst in penalty kicks to claim the program's first national title last December.
ROAD TO THE POSTSEASON
• After playing five of its last six games at home, Babson hits the road for four straight matches beginning on Wednesday night.
• In addition to facing one of the NESCAC's top squads, the Beavers have NEWMAC fixtures against WPI and MIT and a trip to Eastern Connecticut, which is currently third in the Little East standings.
