Box Score BABSON PARK, Mass.--Junior Peter Chisholm (Westford, Mass.) scored a career-high six goals as Babson College rolled to a 21-5 win over visiting Emerson College in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) men's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon at MacDowell Field.
With the win, Babson improves to 2-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play, while Emerson starts the season at 0-1 overall and in the NEWMAC.
Sophomore Chi Chi Price (Hingham, Mass.) had four goals, while seniors Ethan Carpenter (Orlando, Fla.) and Mason O'Hanlon (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) both scored twice for the Beavers. Junior Ryan Donovan (Cohasset, Mass.) finished with a goal and two assists and first-year Grey Sunderland (Bellevue, Wash.) won 19-of-22 face-offs and led all players with nine ground balls in the win.
Senior Mac Mowat (Bellevue, Wash.) started and made two first-quarter saves as four Babson goalies combined to stop nine shots on the day.
Graduate student Austin Franklin (New Bedford, Mass.) had two goals for the Lions, who got 15 saves from junior Malcolm McGrath (Ridgefield, Conn.). Lex Torrington (Culver City, Calif.) scooped up six ground balls and added one caused turnover in the loss.
The Green and White wasted little time seizing control of the game with six goals over the first 4:41 of the contest. Price, Chisholm and Carpenter scored in a span of 64 seconds to make it 3-0 at the 13:12 mark, Donovan followed with his first marker a minute later, and Price and Chisholm each added their second tally of the afternoon to stretch the margin to 6-0 with 10:19 left in the quarter.
Price scored for the third time at 8:55 and O'Hanlon put away two in a row to cap the Beavers' nine-goal run with 29 seconds left in the first. Frankin got Emerson on the board in the closing seconds of the first and Eldredge made it 10-2 at the break with his goal late in the second before Babson opened the third quarter with seven straight tallies.
Sophomore Tom Schofield (Medfield, Mass.) converted a feed from senior John Antaya (Duxbury, Mass.) for his first goal of the season, Chisholm followed with back-to-back tallies 32 seconds apart to stretch the lead to 13-2, and Sunderland won the ensuing face-off and scored the first goal of his career. Price scored his final goal of the afternoon and Chisholm notched his fifth marker of the day with 1:02 to go in the frame to make it 18-3.
Babson, which got a point from 15 different players, outshot Emerson 64-22 and won 24-of-29 face-offs. The Beavers also finished with a 55-27 edge in ground balls and converted 20-of-22 clears.
Both teams wrap up the regular season next weekend as Babson hosts Springfield on Sunday at 4:30 p.m., while Emerson travels to Coast Guard on Saturday at 1 p.m.

- The Beavers are 7-0 all-time against Emerson.
- Babson has scored 20 goals in back-to-back games for the first time since 2013, when it totaled 27 against Regis on April 21 and 21 versus Clark on April 24.
