WHAT TO KNOW
• Babson College will be the home site for NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Tournament games for the second year in a row when it hosts two games on Saturday and one on Sunday at MacDowell Field.
• The No. 3 Beavers will meet Massachusetts Maritime in a second-round game at 12 p.m. on Saturday, followed by No. 15 Hamilton vs. No. 20 St. Lawrence at 3 p.m. The two winners will meet in a third-round match-up on Sunday at 3 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY
• Babson is 28-1 all-time against Massachusetts Maritime in a series that dates back to 1978.
• The Beavers have won 23 in a row over the Buccaneers with the most recent meeting coming in 2019.
• Many of the games in the series were when both schools were members of the now-defunct Pilgrim Lacrosse League from 2003-2013, which became part of the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) in 2014.

SCOUTING THE BUCCANEERS
NCAA Tournament Appearance: 1st
• Mass. Maritime (16-2), coming off its first Little East Conference (LEC) championship last Saturday with a 13-10 triumph over Western Connecticut, recorded a 28-17 victory over Husson in a first-round game on Wednesday in its first career appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
• Sophomore James Sullivan (8g, 2a) registered a career-high 10 points, senior Daniel Kane (3g, 4a) added seven points, and classmate Ryan McDonough (3g, 1a) and sophomore Chilton Cabot (1g, 3a) chipped in with four points for the Buccaneers, who produced a season-high offensive output with their fifth 20-plus goals performance. Sophomore Cole Jenkins won 31-of-35 faceoffs and scooped up 18 ground balls, first-year Colin Fitzsimmons won 11-of-14, and senior Seamus Buckley and sophomore Will Dykeman each caused three turnovers. First-years Nicholas Hall (2) and Jonathan Visser (3) combined for just five saves in goal in the win.
• Kane (43-39-82) and Sullivan (55-21-76) give the Buccaneers a strong 1-2 punch on offense, junior Quinn Mucha (36-20-56) is a 50-point scorer, and Cabot (29-21-50) and McDonough (24-14-38) are offensive threats as well. Jenkins has won 68.9 percent of his face-offs (237-of-344) and Fitzsimmons has won 64.3 percent (81-of-126).
• Sullivan is second in the LEC with 46 caused turnovers and Buckley has forced 22 miscues. Hall (9.33 GAA, .553 sv. pct, 156 svs) has started 16 of the 18 games in goal for the Buccaneers while Visser (10.06 GAA, .582 sv. pct, 39 svs) has made seven appearances with two starts.
BABSON IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT
• After competing in just one NCAA Tournament appearance (1979) in the first 50 years of the program, the Beavers are making their fifth NCAA Tournament appearance in the last six seasons and the sixth in program history, posting a 3-5 record in their first five showings.
• The Green and White routed Western Connecticut in the opening round last season in Babson Park, 24-4, before falling to No. 5 Wesleyan in the second round, 16-7, in Middletown, Conn.
• Babson defeated No. 19 Denison in the second round of the 2024 tournament, 12-10, before falling to No. 2/3 RIT, 23-16, in the third round in Rochester, N.Y.
• The Green and White defeated Williams, 16-10, in the second round of the 2023 championships for the program's first NCAA Tournament win before falling to RIT, 20-9, in the third round.
• The first NCAA appearance for Babson was back in 1979, when the Beavers fell to Maryland-Baltimore County in the Division II tourney, 22-7, in Baltimore.

SMITH, ALMQUIST, COACHES RECEIVE MAJOR AWARDS AS 10 BEAVERS NAMED ALL-NEWMAC
• Smith was named Athlete of the Year, Almquist was tabbed Defensive Player of the Year, and
Rocky Batty and his assistants were named Coaching Staff of the Year when the NEWMAC announced its postseason awards on Thursday.
• Smith and Almquist were joined on the All-Conference First Team by Allen, Burns, Dorr, Ambrosh, St Onge, and
Bruno Batty, while McAleavey and Rooney were Second Team honorees.
• It was the third All-Conference selections for Smith and Rooney and the others were recognized for the first time in their respective careers.

• The Beavers bring a 8-2 home record into the weekend with wins in 18 of their last 21 home games dating back to last season.
