SERIES HISTORY
• Babson is 2-1-1 all-time against Plymouth State in a series that dates back to 2003.
• The Beavers are unbeaten in their last two meetings against the Panthers.
• The teams were scheduled to play four times this winter but were forced to cancel their February 19-20 series.
LAST MEETING
• Tommy Munichiello '19 tied the game at 12:05 of the third period and Rob Devaney '18 scored the go-ahead goal five minutes later as the Beavers rallied to edge Plymouth State, 4-3, on November 5, 2016, in Babson Park.
• Munichiello finished with a goal and an assist, while Bill Seligman added a goal and two assists for the Beavers, who jumped out to a 2-0 first-period lead.
• Tommy Dowell gave the Panthers a 3-2 lead at 19:42 of the second period after Michael Economos and Ian McGilvey had tied it in the opening period.
SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
• Plymouth State (2-0) has been off since February 13 when it completed a weekend sweep of Anna Maria with a 2-0 victory.
• Sophomore Marcus Seidl broke the scoreless deadlock 6:59 into the third and classmate Myles Abbate tacked on an insurance goal 75 seconds later for the Panthers, who got 21 saves from first-year Kalle Anderson.
• Senior JR Barone (1-2-3) and junior Mike McPherson (0-3-3) have combined for five assists, while junior Simon Besner (1-1-2) and sophomore Jacob Laurin (1-1-2) have each scored on the power play.
• Anderson and sophomore Brendahan Brawley combined to stop 49 of 50 shots for a .980 save percentage in two games against Anna Maria to start the season.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (4-0) completed a weekend sweep of New England College with a 2-1 road win back on February 13.
• Junior John Corrigan scored a power play goal in the first period and classmate Mike Egan added the eventual game winner at 13:32 of the second for the Beavers, who got 24 saves from senior netminder Brad Arvanitis.
• Junior Ryan Black (4-3-7) has recorded three straight multi-point games, classmate Matt Wiesner (2-4-6) has scored twice on the power play, and Corrigan (2-2-4) has a point in every game this season.
• Arvanitis has started three of four games on the year posting a 1.34 goals against average and a .944 save percentage.
MULTI-POINT MEN
• Eight different Babson players have recorded at least one multi-point game this season.
• Black and Wiesner led the Green and White with three multi-point games apiece, while senior Nick Rosa has finished with two points twice in the team's first four outings.
AMONG THE NATION'S BEST
• Entering this weekend's series with Plymouth State, the Beavers are the only Division III team in the country to rank in the top 10 nationally in team offense and defense, the power play and the penalty kill.
• Babson ranks fifth in goals against average (1.00) and is sixth in scoring offense averaging 4.50 goals.
• The Beavers have killed off 16-of-17 penalties and rank sixth at 94.1 percent, and are eighth on the power play with six goals in 20 chances, good for a 30 percent success rate.
STREAKING BEAVERS
• Black has at least one point in all four contests this winter and has either a goal or an assist in six consecutive games going back to last year.
• Corrigan has scored in two straight games and Egan enters the weekend riding a three-game points streak.
NUMBER TO KNOW
• The Beavers have outscored their opponents 14-2 in the second and third periods over the first four games.
