SERIES HISTORY
• Babson is 16-2-0 all-time against Tufts in a series that dates back to the 1991-92 campaign.
• The Beavers have won four consecutive games against the Jumbos, although Tuesday's contest will be just the fourth between the programs since 2011.
LAST MEETING
• Patrick Flynn '21 scored the go-ahead goal at 7:26 of the third period to help visiting Babson defeat Tufts, 2-1, inside the Valley Forum in Malden, Mass.
• Senior Trevor Marcinick also scored for the Beavers and both Flynn and senior Ryan Campbell collected an assist. Senior Aidan Murphy stopped 26 of 27 shots in between the pipes.
• Hayden Smith tallied a goal and Ross Delabruere and Charley Borek recorded assists for the Jumbos, who got 32 saves from Drew Hotte.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• No. 9 Babson (4-1-2) gained three out of four possible points last weekend in a New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) series in the Babson Skating Center with a 3-3 overtime tie against Castleton and a 4-2 victory over Skidmore.
• Seniors Mike Egan and Cam Schmitt both finished with a goal and an assist to lead the Beavers in the tie against Castleton. Graduate student Paul Boutoussov also scored and fellow grad student Brad Arvanitis made 26 saves between the pipes.
• Senior Matt Wiesner tallied a goal and an assist and junior Nolan Hildebrand made 24 saves in his first start of the season in the triumph over Skidmore. Boutoussov, senior Ryan Black, and first-year Matt Cormier also scored for the Beavers.
• The Beavers are unbeaten in their last 28 contests when allowing two or fewer goals, a streak that extends back to November 23, 2019.
• Babson had scored on the power play in 13 of its previous 14 games going back to the start of the abbreviated 2021 campaign, but did not have an extra-man opportunity in the win over Skidmore.
SCOUTING THE JUMBOS
• Tufts (0-1-1) opened its season last weekend with a pair of New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) home games in Malden, Mass., skating to a 3-3 overtime tie with Wesleyan on Friday and falling to Trinity on Saturday, 6-4.
• Fist-year Tyler Sedlak tallied his first collegiate goal to help Tufts earn the tie Wesleyan, scoring with 3:39 remaining in the third period to tie the score. Senior Josh Sarlo made 15 of his 34 saves in the third period and overtime.
• Seniors Cal LeClair and Angus Scott notched a goal and an assist each in the setback to Trinity, and Sarlo finished with 33 saves.
• The Jumbos had its entire season wiped out a year ago due to the pandemic after finishing 8-15-1 in their last full season in 2019-20.
NEHC LEADERS
• Black (5-5-10) leads Babson and ranks second in the NEHC in points and tied for third in goals, while sophomore Mike Egan (4-5-9) is tied for third in points and tied for eighth in goals.
• Arvanitis (2-1-2) ranks third in the NEHC with save percentage (.924) and fifth in goals against average (2.53).
BABSON STREAKS
• Egan has tallied at least one point in all seven games this season, extending his points streak to nine games dating back to last season. He has six goals and six assists in the nine-game streak.
• Black got back on the scoresheet with a goal against Skidmore after his 15-game point streak was snapped in Friday's tie with Castleton.
POLL POSITION
• Babson is one of three NEHC teams ranked in the Top 9 in the USCHO.com Division III poll, and one of four in the 15. Hobart is ranked fifth, Norwich is sixth, and Babson is ninth while Elmira is 15th.
• Two other NEHC teams received votes in this week's poll –New England College and UMass Boston.

• Babson is 26-0-1 when leading after two periods over the last two seasons. The tie was last Friday against Castleton.
