THE SETUP
• Babson and four other MacConnell Division programs will travel to Sugarloaf Mountain for the second winter in a row to compete in the USCSA Eastern Regional Championships on Saturday and Sunday.
• The Beavers and their league rivals will compete against the top teams from the Thompson Division and Reynolds Division with the top five schools earning a spot at the national championships next month.

2019 EASTERN REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS RECAP
• The Babson women tied for second place and the men's squad came in third at last year's regional championships at Sugarloaf.
• Senior MacIntyre Henderson won the men's GS and came in sixth in the slalom on the way to taking first place in the combined standings, while classmate Jack Blanchard came in second overall after placing seventh in the GS and second in the slalom.
• Senior Elizabeth Baer finished 15th in the giant slalom and ninth in the slalom en route to a sixth-place result in the combined standings, and sophomore Julia Martin parlayed a pair of top-25 showings into a 16th-place finish overall for the Babson women.

SCOUTING THE BABSON WOMEN
• The Beavers wrapped up the regular season by placing third in the slalom and first in the giant slalom at West Mountain back on February 8-9.
• Junior Sarah Mangiacotti (2nd), Baer (4th) and first-year Lauren Abdow (5th) all recorded top-five results in the GS as the Green and White recorded their second victory of the season.
• Mangiacotti recorded nine top-seven finishes on the way to finishing fourth in the MacConnell Division standings and earning her second consecutive all-conference award, while Baer placed sixth thanks to 10 top-10 results to become the first female skier in program history to earn four consecutive all-division honors.
• Abdow finished outside the top 10 just twice during the regular season to pick up her first All-MacConnell Division accolade, while Martin came in 16th in the overall standings.

SCOUTING THE BABSON MEN
• The Beavers concluded the regular season by finishing second in the slalom and third in the GS at West Mountain two weekends ago.
• Blanchard and Henderson placed third and fourth, respectively, in the slalom and sophomore Victor Wiaceck was Babson's lone skier to record back-to-back top-10 finishes, coming in sixth in the slalom and ninth in the GS.
• First-year Jack Beney led four All-MacConnell Division honorees, recording eight top-10 finishes on the way to earning league rookie of the year accolades thanks to his fourth-place finish.
• Blanchard came in seventh despite missing three races to start the year, while first-years Liam Mooney and Zach Roman finished ninth and 11th, respectively.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR
• Two-time defending regional champions Castleton won all 10 league races this winter but should be challenged by both the Beavers and Clarkson at Sugarloaf.
• MacConnell Division programs grabbed five of the top six spots on the team leaderboard at last year's regional championships at Sugarloaf.
• The Castleton women, who have also claimed two straight regional titles, won eight of 10 races on the MacConnell Division circuit this winter.

EYES ON THE PRIZE
• The Babson men are looking to qualify for nationals for the 13th consecutive season, while the Beavers can reach the USCSA National Championships on the women's side for the fifth year in a row this weekend with a top-five finish.
