LAKE PLACID, N.Y.—Senior Jack Blanchard (Dover, Mass.) recorded a pair of top-10 finishes as the Babson College men's alpine ski team placed second and third in two giant slalom races at Whiteface Mountain over the weekend.
Castleton continued its run atop the league collecting its fifth and sixth victories of the season, while Clarkson finished third behind the Beavers on day two after placing second in Friday's first GS race.
Blanchard opened the weekend by finishing eighth overall, while the first-year trio of Zachary Roman (Mashpee, Mass.), Jack Beney (Greenwich, Conn.) and Liam Mooney (Manchester, Vt.) all crossed the finish line less than 0.25 seconds apart in 10th through 12th place. Seniors Sean Robinson (Reno, Nev.) and Eli Wolfson (Woodland Hills, Calif.) came in 19th and 22nd, respectively, for the Beavers.
On Saturday, Blanchard put together a pair of solid runs to come in fifth for his top showing of the winter. Beney was two spots behind him in seventh place, while Robinson and Wolfson finished less than a half-second apart to take 17th and 18th position.
Babson returns to action on Saturday when it heads to Pat's Peak in Henniker, N.H., for the slalom.
